Marble, did you see that his last fight(hate to call it that) against RJJ. That was just sickening. A fighter doesn't need to be carried out of the ring to show the world that he's done.
He looked bad against another horribly shot fighter. That's all I, or anybody else should need to see...

Wait a minute, I'm supposed to judge a fighter based on in-family promises?
Geeze, remind me to cross Ali and Ray Leonard and Jack Johnson and a gazillion others off my list.
Yeah but wasn't Bernard's mother on her death bed when he swore he'd never fight again ?
Dunno. Don't marriage vows mean things? Judging that kind of stuff in others is just beyond me.

Apparently you're wrong in BHOP's case right? Otherwise we wouldn't be talking about this. And yeah, the Jones fight was awful. But he won.

I think he kept his promise quite well. Ever see the two Jermaine Taylor fights? LOL: Actually, I understand Hopkins is 45 or 46 and still getting top billing, however he looked horrible and silly against Roy Jones. Falling down after getting tapped on the back of the head by an "over the hill" Roy Jones is not what I call a prime athlete. Sure he was acting but he was worried about losing. If he fights Paschal, he finally gets embarrassed. I don't think the safety first style works here. I'd be impressed if he showed up.

I just haven't seen Pascal enough. If the way he fought against Dawson is the norm? I think he has no shot. If he can actually apply constant pressure? Another story.

I would agree if he were making compelling fights unfold in the division instead of holding them up. Hopkins is motivated by money- as long as he feels he can put another mil$ in the bank he'll fight on.

True, but in THIS case he is fighting the recognized champion. Isn't that a GOOD thing?

What turned me off of Hop was his sickening sales job in trying to draw a DQ for the phantom low blow against Calzahge.

I can't disagree with you there, even if it's not the fight I want.

I don't give a fuck what Bernard said to Bernard's momma. I don't wanna see the fight because Bernard has become a bitter old man who complains about everything.

I'm curious what they mean by "Canadian TV". I'd be shocked if this was shown on TSN (the Canadian ESPN) but that would be cool. Other than that, it's HBO Canada, which is just HBO anyway. Unless they mean TVA in Quebec, which sometimes carries these cards with a French crew. Not ideal, but it'd give me a chance to practice my French I guess.
Either way, this is an interesting fight, but not the best possible one that could have been made. I put it behind a rematch with Dawson, a fight with Bute, and a rematch with Froch, to be honest.
