how can we wake up when mass media spends billions of dollars on PR campaigns to promote news channels like Fox as "fair and balanced". All of our major news networks skew information and promote propaganda to make us think that things are way different than they really are. If you want unfiltered news you have to go to independent new agencies often found on the web. The real news network is a pretty good one for starts.

Ignorance is relative. Are we any more or less ignorant than the nations that allow us to abuse and enslave them? I mean if the Mid East wasn't still culturally in the middle ages would America and Israel be able to abuse them so badly?

If the mid-east didn't have oil, they would be totally unimportant and nobody would put up with their bullshit. Yes ignorance is relative, because some choose to expand their knowledge and grow as human beings, others choose to sit around thinking that they didn't get a management position because of their sex, skin color, etc. It never occurred to them that the job requires a college diploma and requires a high degree of responsibility to the person in charge. They think that the Trading Places scenario or lottery is going to save them.

Interesting. I have to point out though that off the top of my head I bet less than 1% of the entire human population that has ever lived existed under this moral dichotomy and never more than 10-15% of the humans on the planet at any given time lived under it while alive, including the ones now.

I bet 99% of the population ever was ethnocentric and filtered everything through their tiny little world view that applys to only them though.
