Cung Le talks return on CBS late this year early next

"Strikeforce middleweight champion Cung Le (6-0) hasn't fought since earning the title with a TKO win over Frank Shamrock in March 2008, and many MMA fans are calling for the flashy striker to give up the belt.

But as Le recently told MMAjunkie.com Radio (www.mmajunkie.com/radio), Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker isn't of the same opinion.

"I had that conversation with Scott Coker," Le said. "I think we talked maybe a week ago, and he said he's trying to figure out when the next CBS date will be. He said as soon as he squares away that deal, am I interested in fighting? I said, 'Of course.'

"[Coker] said either the end of the year or early next year he should get that CBS deal going and I should be back in there throwing kicks.""

I wonder if he will be his old self when he returns.

So he's coming back to commentate, right? hehe

Last I checked, taking 18 months off isn't good for guys in their late 30's in combat sports.

No one cares he will get waxed. His only decent win is an old Shamrock who stood with him. He doesn't have the dedication to do anything.

As much of a Le fan as I was, I fear this may be all too true.

It's about frigging time.

Im guessing it would be Le vs Shields. And a fight that Le def could win. That's a pretty sweet fight just prior to watching Fedor.

Le can kick and that is about it. Shields would pull guard and sub him in about 11 seconds.

And if he can keep it standing he has a huge advantage.

Cung has a highly evolved geijitsu game, making the prospect of Jake getting close enough to take him down unlikely.

agreed, what people dont know is that Le is pretty a good wrestler...plus with his san shou skills and understanding of balance, it will be very difficult to take him down. However if this does somehow go to the ground, Le is a goner.
