| On Saturday night in Germany, WBO cruiserweight champ Marco Huck had it easier than expected with American boxer Matt Godfrey in the headliner of Sauerland´s show at the Messhall. Godrey was down in the second and floored twice in the fifth before it was stopped at 2.18. Wilfried Sauerland, owner of promotional company Sauerland Event, says the rumored Super Six cruiserweight tournament will be moving forward. The tournament will be based on Showtime's Super Six super middleweight tournament, which Sauerland Event played a big role in putting together. Huck´s next fight will be the opening fight of the cruiserweight Super Six and will take place December 4 or December 18 but against who isn´t clear yet. The other participants in the tournament appear to be IBF ruler Steve Cunningham, WBC champ Krzysztof Wlodarczyk (who of course must beat Jason Robinson on September 25), Russian Denis Lebedev and perhaps Yoan Pablo Hernandez. A sixth name will be announced and Sauerland hinted at a fourth champion joining the tournament. http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=30273 |

| You have to make Cunningham the favorite. He has a 12th round TKO over Huck and went 1-1 in 2 fights against Wlodarczyk. He also gave Adamek all he could handle in a great fight.
Huck and Wlodarczyk have to be 2 and 3.

| Cunningham, Huck, Wlodarczyk, Lebedev and Hernandez in the Cruiser tourney makes it intresting. These guys arent too much better than each other so the fights will be competitive (well Huck and Cunnigham are the top guys to take it). Put Ross as the 6th guy and call it a wrap. Ross was giving USS a fight before he got thumbed. I like his chances against Cunningham in a rematch. | |

| Good question Ninja, I'd say it's a toss up between the top three guys even though Cunningham has previously beaten Huck and the other man who's name I can't spell or pronounce. Cunningham has slightly declined these past couple years, Adamek was tagging him too easily and Ross was actually doing well before the cut happened, meanwhile Huck has improved vastly since the loss to Cunnigham.
I wonder if Showtime will televise. |

| We have a Cruiser, Super Middle and batom weight Tournaments going on. Jr welter didnt have one because of GBP protecting their guys. Good thing Batom has a deep division, since Top Ranka nd Monteil wanted no part of it. | |

It really is a HUGE step in the right direction isn't it? The thing it is demonstrating to fight fans is that one loss just isn't a big deal. One can come back from it.

The thing it is demonstrating to fight fans is that one loss just isn't a big deal. One can come back from it. interesting you bring that up when the sport head on this direction??? i mean nowawadays if somebody loses is as if the world ends (hamed anyone?) the promoters went away from the redemption factor which is HUGE in all sports.

| i agree. in a tournament, one loss doesnt seem that bad because there is still a chance to come back and win. | |

| too many fight fans, boxing writers, fighters, and promoters focus on a loss.
To me a loss doesn't mean shit. Guys lose. Not facing good competition is a problem. Fighting only twice a year is a problem.
A tournament is great. It puts the best guys in tough. At the end of the day, isn't that all we want as fight fans?

| fans expect too much out of fighters. there are only a handful of fighters ever that could really go through good opposition in their career without losing or only losing once. most fighters arent going to fight great fighters for 20 fights in a row and be victorious in them all. | |

| Great pitchers win 60% of their games. Great Tennis players win 80% of their matches. Great golfers win 15% of the tournaments they enter.
Somehow a fighter who only wins 90% of his fights is a stiff?

| like i said, only few fighters ever who fought top quality opponents could win that many fights without losing. people like SRR, ali, pep, louis, and a few others. even greats like armstrong, conn, walker, and many others had quite a few losses for one reason or another but mainly because they fought such good competition so frequently that they were bound to lose every once in a while. | |

| Unfortunately the tournament will only include Sauerland fighters but it's not really a big problem since they promote the three top guys in the division. The main thing is a Ring champion will be crowned at the end |

| I would like to see Ross or Eddie Chambers in that sixthh spot.
Ross is with Group Yvon Michel, who is Chambers with ?
As I've said in the past, Eddie would be wise to follow Cunningham's example and sign with Sauerland if he wants to make money. Chambers is known to German fans from his fights with Dimentrenko, Povetkin, and Wlad.
