"I don't know what will happen now. I came from the doctor and he told me not to fight. I'm sad for myself and all of the Mexicans who wanted to see us fight on the 18th in Las Vegas."

Editor's Note: Both Top Rank and Gary Shaw have heard rumors of the injury. Neither has been able to confirm it at the present with Marquez's team. Fernando Beltran of Zanfer, who co-promotes Marquez, was unavailable for comment.

An already dissapointing year in boxing(for me), gets more gloomy....

When the fight was first discussed, I was against it. My gut told me Marquez was past it. We haven't seen much from him for years except fights against Vazquez (and both guys probably have been declining significantly).

Over the last couple of months, I've warmed to the fight. Marquez might have something left, he might not.

Now he's injured and there is no fight.

What a shitty year.

I hope they postpone the fight. This sucks.
