Guys you like that everyone hates...

I feel like I could add a couple especially since Floyd and Ward are my favorite fighters, but I'll go with Carl Froch.

He's a warrior in the ring, an asshole out of it, has a great looking girl and he doesn't apologize for anything. His style always came across to me as a hybrid of a bunch of different things: old school, new school; American, Latin, European; boxing, brawling. He just put a bunch of pieces together that worked and is always up for a fight. He stays calm and confident in and outside of the ring. He talks his mind and when he doesn't let his ego take over, he seems like a knowledgeable guy. He's a deceptively smart fighter.

He puts his foot in his mouth often, but a lot of the time I find myself siding with him.

I gain more and more respect for Wlad Klitschko the longer he keeps doing what he is doing.

I STILL think Rafael Marquez's career is misunderstood and he has accomplished more than his brother.

You're right by the way. Froch is deceptively smart in the ring.

Agree on Wlad. I've defended him a ton. Yes, he should be more aggressive. that being said, he is always in top condition, faces top competition (yes HW is weak but he has taken on the best of a weak division), and he wins almost every round.

You beat me to the punch, Bird. I'm a gigantic fan of James Toney. His fearless attitude, his willingness to fight anyone, anytime anywhere, there's no lying in this guy. When he says, "I don't give a damn about anybody" he means it. Hell, he could've worked for Tony Montana. I won't soon forget the fun I had watching the first "Tony - Peter" fight. James looked like a butterball and I thought he was going to get killed. When we get to the "T,s" in this Ring Mag contest, my vote goes to James Toney.

Cintron- I like the guy he is a big time puncher who is never in a boring fight. I know you guys think he jumped out of the ring. I thought PW tackled his ass because Cintron was rocking his ass.

Mayweather - Nuff said. Great in the ring, outside... not so much. I always thought his attitude when he first turned professional was ok... but I guess it wasn't getting him on PPV either. Either way, Floyd needs to slow his roll a little bit with this whole "Money" persona and relax.

James Toney -- Agree with some others: I think he is a riot, some people think he's an ass. His interviews leading up to his MMA fight with Couture have been hilarious. I hope he's been taking the ground game training serious.

Andre Ward - Didn't notice any hate before he won a belt, now I see a bunch of "he's a dirty fighter" "over-rated" etc kind of talk from people. Kind of strange given his attitude. I figured his clean image and attitude would win over most people. Some people seriously don't like his recent performances as well when I thought they were excellent.

Malignaggi - Big mouth doesn't help, but he doesn't have big punching power to get headlines either. Considering his power limitations as a fighter, I think he is an excellent boxer and not appreciated enough. Some people just love to hate him though. The costumes and haircuts don't help his case.

Couple people already said it but i have to go with Toney as well. Not only do i like him he is one of my favorite fighters. He has slick skills, (even as an overweight HW) and he isn't scared of anything. Not to mention he is one of the funniest shit talkers in boxing.

Agree on Toney. One of my favorite fighters. He could have done so much more and as a big fan I feel a little cheated. What if he lived like BHOP?? How much could he have achieved?

He also is probably biting off alot more than he can chew by getting in the Octagon. My MMA knowledge is limited, but it seems that he shouldn't be that hard to defeat. His legs and balance are not there anymore at 41 years old. If Coutore can stay out of range for the first 30 seconds or so, and dodge Toney's first overextending punch, he can get to Toney to the ground. I hope I am proven wrong by one of my favorite fighters!

Abe disappointed alot of fans with hitting Dirrell when he was down. Apart from that he's got a tendency to complain to refs too much about low blows.
