| i don't want to take credit for this but i wrote the wba a letter recently and ummmmmmmmmmm............. Jones to lose WBA title?
By Gabriel F. Cordero
Current WBA cruiserweight world champion Guillermo “Felino” Jones of Panama could soon be stripped of his crown. Jones won the title in September 2008 and has yet to defend. The WBA World Championships Committee is expected to vacate the belt shortly, thereby opening the door to challengers in the division that desire to fight. “We have been flexible with Jones,” said WBA President Gilberto Mendoza. “It’s sad, but the moment to decide has arrived. He couldn’t have expected more.”

| WBA president Gilberto Mendoza reports that cruiserweight champion Guillermo "Felino" Jones (36-3, 28KOs) of Panama is about to be stripped of his crown. He won the WBA title with a knockout of Firat Arslan in September 2008. All sorts of issues outside of the ring and fight postponements have caused Jones too sit out for nearly two years, but the title is being held hostage around his waist. The WBA will hold a meeting to decide his fate. It seems they have finally had enough. "We've been flexible with Jones, and it's a pity, but the time has come to make a decision and we can not wait any longer," said Mendoza. http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=30113 |

| I guess two years of paying WBA dues wasn't enough. He'll get an immediate title shot...if he ever actually gets in the ring. | |

| Who ? Oh, him.
Maybe Jones can go back down to super welterweight and find some big fights. LOL
He would have to change his name from 'the expanding man' to 'the contracting man'

| Press release from Guillermo Jones,
"I strongly disagree with the decision of the WBA to strip me of this prestigious belt. I won this belt in an amazing fight with legendary German cruiserweight, Firat Arslan. I have represented the WBA and acted as an honorable champion. It is disgraceful that I wasn't allowed sufficient time to find a worthy opponent for my first defense."
Seriously, I'd die laughing if Jones got someone on his team to put out a statement like that.

is this for real?? if so lmao btw the way he got that shot at arslan was very shady. he fought braithwait and the fight was stopped on 10 punch combo which NO punches landed. right after the ref stops it jones falls to the floor like he'd a seizure. something about him cramping up or something. one of the weirdest fights i've ever seen.
