| Jesus Christ almighty give me strength.
Collazo is an idiot, he had the chance to face Aydin in a WBC eliminator which would have made him mandatory and what does he do yup turns it down claiming weight is the issue. Now he's offered the chance at a Jr Middleweight title on HBO and what does he do turns it down.
I am really getting pissed off with boxing just now. |

| The big problem is a guy like him sitting on his ass. He fought in June of 2009. Yeah, its been over a year. But when you can't get a good money fight, how about fighting on a smaller card.
If you are Floyd and you want to wait a year to fight, that is one thing.
When you are the Luis Collazos of the world you need to fight often enough that when an opportunity comes up, you don't sit down and think, "damn I've been sitting for 14 months. It will be hard to get ready to fight in 8 weeks."

| It's inexcusable not to be prepared ofr an opportunity when you are basically a journeyman. | |

| Angulo, Berto, Collazo, Winky, Zab, and Paul Williams should get together to form a tournament, call it: The Stupid 6 Classic.
They would likely put each fight on PPV as they are each massive draws in their own minds.

| Um, MORON?
THIS is why one stays active. THIS is why one fights fights for not a ton of money from time to time. THIS is why one must fight SEVERAL times a year.
To stay sharp. To stay fit. TO BE ABLE TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF OPPORTUNITIES!!!!!!!!

BUT IT'S A NEW ERA! IT'S NOT HIS FAULT! HE'S FIGHTING FOR HIS FAMILY! HE'S UNDER THE CONTROL OF A PROMOTER! INSIDE MATCHMAKING! Did I cover most of the more recent excuses for fighters NOT FIGHTING???????

Nice post. Not that difficult a concept is it? I fail to understand why fighters don't say to themselves "Hey, if it was good enough for Ray Robinson and Willie Pep and Benny Leonard and Marvin Hagler" it's good enough for me. Course I also fail to understand why fight fans are so willing to live with excuses. What do I know?

| Luis will retire soon. He obviously doesn' t want to be a world champion. Opportunities are what you live for. To turn down a shot at the title means that he's no longer interested in boxing. Either that or he's mentally challenged. | |

| I looked on boxrec last night to get an idea what Collazo has been doing with his career.
Answer: jackshit
-he fought Hatton in 2006- lost a very close decision (many thought he won the fight including me). - 6 months later he had a stay busy fight -he fought Mosley early in 2007-He lost a wide decision, but the scores were a little deceiving; alot of rounds were close, its just Mosley did a little bit more and his class showed. -Sat for a year -stay busy fight -7 or 8 months later he had another stay busy fight -Jan 2009-fought Berto and lost a questionable decision -June 2009-stay busy fight
is it just me or does Luis Collazo basically sit on his ass and wait for a nice payday to come knocking at his door. He is a guy that was once ranked in the top 10 at 147 and he easily should be in the top 15 or so at 147 or 154. He should be fighting on FNF level cards, beating decent competition, staying sharp, and keeping some money coming in.

That's what a man does when he gives a damn. Luis is a bum and is wasting another fighter's chance. A decent fighter but a complete loser.

| He turned down 3 fights that would have earned him good money since he fought Berto in Jan of 09. He turned down a Berto rematch because he wanted more money, pulled out of the Aydin because he wanted to move up to 154, and now turned down another payday and a shot at a championship. This is the year of the duck, 8 months thrugh the year and we can already call this year a failure in boxing. Last year everyone thought 2010 was going to be better because of all the super fights. FOr these guy being fighterm they sure dont like to fight much. | |
