Seems to me grounds for a DQ. But why didn't the Johnson corner say something prior to the fight?

It could be ruled a DQ or a NC if the gloves were tampered with. I just think they wanted to use black gloves to match his trunks, not for any unfair advantage. Story will blow over, nothing big I think.

What a dumb fucking hillbilly Cloud is. Why the fuck would you fight in different gloves than the ones you agreed to? That is just pure stupidity. The other thing that's stupid is the fact that anyone gives a fuck about the color of the gloves.

That's why I said it's pure fucking stupidity. I can't believe that Cloud and his team did something as stupid as this that would jeopardize the outcome for the sake of the color of gloves. The other thing that i find silly is that the color of the gloves is in issue in the first place.

I agree that Johnson's team is playing up a very minor offense if the only difference is color but I also agree with them to confiscate them and see if there is something sketchy about them. They could be lighter gloves or even be tampered with. Hopefully, it is just the color and this blows over because I wouldn't mind seeing Cloud in there with Dawson, Pascal, or Shumenov.

The issue is NOT the color. The commissions HAND OUT/approve the gloves that will be used on fight night and both camps inspect both gloves. The fighters do NOT provide their own. Does anyone really need to ask why?

This may or may not turn out to have impacted this fight. But it is a HUGE issue.

You're not getting it. This is ANOTHER example of a fighter ignoring the rules and positioning himself to scam. A DQ, a fine and/or a suspension is the appropriate penalty.

Now do I think it impacted Saturday? probably not. But again, not the point. Rules exist for a reason. BTW he didn't TAMPER with the gloves, he REPLACED them entirely. How can you be ok with that?
