It's funny how Silva's idol is Roy Jones Jr, it looks like his reign will come to a demise similar to his.

It's more to do with Silva slowing down than being vulnerable.

Vitor tends to run hot and cold, and having sat out for nearly a year, I'd say a declining Silva has the better chance to win.

Give Vitor Belfort Wanderlei Silva or Yushin Okami in a title eliminator.

I picked GSP to beat Silva after the Hardy fight when discussion was happening about that possibility. I still got it that way. If Vitor can beat him it will be by a totally different way, face blast.

GSP is too small to control Silva on the ground, and standing up GSP isn't even able to dent a sandcastle.

GSP has been able to control anyone without hardly breaking a sweat(we know why he's shiny) at 170 yet Silva will just be too big for him? I don't know if I buy that theory totally.

GSP has rocked and knocked down the following welterweights with strikes - Hughes, Alves, and Jon Fitch. While is hasn't been a one punch striker, he doesn't put together a lot of strikes or fight much on his feet either. The name of the game is deception and speed. GSP's strikes are fast and very Machida-like in their deception and execution. If Silva is as hittable as he was last weekend then GSP could land surpring shots on him rather easily.

although I don't want to write Spider off as a declining fighter. After rolling through guys who stood no chance, he was obviously getting bored, and without the stiff challengers he was not staying sharp, Saturday could be a wakeup call for him. And Silva had never faced a guy with the takedowns and top control combo of Chael, plain and simple. Samething happened to Nate, and though his stock dropped, no one is calling Nate a declining fighter. And unlike Nate, Spider he has still yet to lose in the UFC.

Though I do wonder that, with declining handspeed, is Silva now best suited to 205? power will stick around, but hand speed will be one of the first things to go.

Regardless of what the decision is, every time I watch that re-run, All I can see is a great fight and a superb performance by both fighters and Chael impresses me more and more.
