How much will Thiago Alves weigh...

Do you guys think he will make weight or be a few pounds over. My guess is 174.

171 he was 177 two days ago he will make it

He was 185 two days ago. He was 177 yesterday.

Thiago might just make the weight but losing 20lbs in the space of a week will effect his stamina.

I think he'll make the weight, but he's gonna be seriously drained. That on top of the year plus layoff on top of the brain surgery thing I just don't see him especially confident here. I think Fitch will Fitch him.

Just look at how Akiyama's lay off effected him against Leben.

I didn't realize figures were out there already. But I will take Fitch as well. I want to see Fitch fight Jake Shields to see who the second best WW is.

A year and a half ago I'd take Alves over Fitch, now I'm not so sure.

cause alves is always cutting a ton of weight(sometimes more successfully then others), this is standard procedure.

The guy with 7 decisions in a row is going to murder Thiago Alves? Not likely. More likely is watching Fitch drain himself going for repeated takedowns and then getting his head knocked off in the 3rd round

When is the last time we saw Fitch that tired though?

He looked pretty gassed at the end of the Pierce fight didn't he? Saunders offered no resistance so that was pretty much a walk through. Don't see the same happening here. Hard to predict with this long ass layoff for Thiago though. I don't expect weight to be an issue. He'll come in at 171. We'll get a chance to see his TD defense again. GSP dominated him not surprisingly, but he did walk all over Kos and his defense against wrestlers is supposed to be ridiculously good in camp. Hell before the GSP fight, King Mo came out and said he didn't think GSP could get him down. Fitch doesn't have that same explosiveness. I think he'll wear himself out trying to get Alves down

171.5 lbs, he has two hours to make weight.

That isn't the point Ludo. The point is cutting troubles or not he doesn't usually suffer as visibly as other fighters.

Damn, never knew you got fined 20% of your purse for missing weight at the weigh in. I still thought you were good if you made it in the next few hours

wow thought the same, and 20% is stiff. and in this case it's over .5 lbs. That's tough.

Maybe it wasn't assessed after the weigh in. Apparently he came back an hour later and was still 171.5

I thought it was only 12.8% of the purse?
