Sonnen has done a great job of getting me interested in this fight. I think he is gonna get embarrassed Saturday and I have always thought this fight shouldn't have happened. I have went on record the last few years picking against Silva alot, but I don't think Chael is anywhere near the fighter Silva is. I hope Chael puts up a good fight.

Why shouldn't this fight have happened? Chael just got done beating the shit out of Okami and Marquardt and is a tougher matchup for Anderson than anyone he's seen since Hendo

Anderson's easiest fight since Irvin, unless you eat the dana pudding. Sonnen is going to come right at him an dget hurt fast, Silva won't need to wait long.

You seriously think this is an easier fight than two BJJ guys with zero standup games who were downright terrified of Anderson before they even got in the cage? Come on now

Yeah, Sonnen getting wrecked will be a testament to that. Those guys were smart and kept away, Sonnen isn't so smart and I'm pretty sure got beat by one of those mentioned because of it.

Silva should have fought a LHW and waited for Vitor. I don't care who Chael beat. I don't think he is anywhere near what Silva is. He has a chance to get a TD and that is it. Hendo 2 years ago would kill Chael right now. Chael is the #1 contender since Vitor got hurt, but I don't feel he is good enough for a main event or title fight with Anderson. I hope I am wrong.

Since when is fighting like a pussy and just handing any chance of winning a title away "smart"? Those guys weren't smart, they were just terrified of getting hit

I don't understand why Anderson should've fought a meaningless LHW fight instead of a guy in his own division who dominated the guy everyone had at either #2/3 and another top 6-7 guy

Because they would of got their ass finished that much soon eliminating any other opportunity that might arise. How is this not an easy fight for Silva? Sonnen isn't gonna win on his feet. He might take him down but it will be to his detriment, he doesn't finish anyone when he takes them down. He'll get tapped eventually if he tangles on the mat to long, he makes dumb decisions against good BJJ guys there.

When this fight was made there were some good LHW fighters to choose from. This is a waste of the fans time imo. Chael Sonnen is a good fighter. He is not a main event guy and shouldn't be considered a title contender. He got this fight because another guy got hurt. Anderson is gonna make him eat all of the words he was given to hype this fight up. This is another weak contender in a MW division that makes me want to puke! Vitor or bust for Spider. I could care less about Silva defending it until competition is available. I would rather see him fight Mir instead of this and I have been against that fight too.

I am glad they kept Anderson from killing contenders in another division.

Sonnen got this fight because he earned it. Maia was the one that backed his way into a title shot because two guys were injured. And you don't have to stress an Anderson-Belfort fight to me, Vitor putting that douche to sleep would be the greatest moment in MMA history for me (although I'm rooting for Sonnen to take him out first out of sheer dislike for the man)

No I kind of agree with beast here. Chael with his middleweight wins over Paulo Filho, Bryan Baker, Dan Miller, Yushin Okami and Nate Marquardt in the WEC/UFC is much less deserving than Vitor Belfort with his UFC middleweight wins over contenders________, _______ and especially __________________________________________________.
