Atlas wants time to work with Povetkin and help him develop. There is a couple of problems with that:

-Povetkin has loads of amateur experience
-Povetkin has had 5 years of pro experience (admittedly not that many fights)
-what is he going to do to get ready for Wlad? the division is weak; After the Klits, Haye, Adamek, there isn't much out there.

Either other fighters who are relatively untested/never will bes (boytsov, ustinov, Kevin Johnson), guys who are long in the tooth/used up (Valuev, Peter, Thompson, Juan Carlos Gomez, Chagaev).

-he already has beaten the faded old ex champ (Byrd). He already beat Chambers. He already beat the traditional journeymen guys. Is beating up on more journeymen, or any of the guys above really going to help him get ready for Wlad? No.

You've gotta respect Wladimir, nobody is forcing him to give Peter a rematch but he's courageous enough to do it.

I hope Peter trains his bottom off.

Agreed.This fight is a waste of time..

This fight has some intrigue based on the last fight between the two. Peter posseses what has given Wlad some problems in the past. The ref was disgraceful in allowing Peter to repeatedly throw dangerous rabbit punches in their fight, which is what I believe caused the most damage.
