Wolf's point is strong that splitting the hwy division does create 2 much weaker divisions. although I don;t agree with his argument that it 205 would take a significant hit because of it.

But I still expect to see more and more very large athletes to enter the sport and at some point I think a cruiser weight division will be necessary. Prob not yet, but at some point. Although this was not the point of my thread.

My true point is that the HWY division is not nearly as soft as people contend it is. In fact I think it is pretty solid.

Hw is an exciting division a little more now, but still near the bottom in depth and talent.

It's simple demographics. There aren't many HWs on this planet so there is a smaller pool to draw from. The only reason why we know more HW names is due to exposure/hype because HWs sell. Everyone wants to see the big uglies slug it out. But the real talent will always be at the average sized weight classes and lower, because most averaged sized people are out of shape. WW and LW are where the real skill and talent exist.
