Lesnar to compete in ADCC 2011 tournament

Thousands of Submission grappling tournaments around the world use elements of the ADCC format and rule structure. To date, the great majority of ADCC champions have had experience studying the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, whose rules are the most similar to it. However, there have been notable exceptions to this, such as Sanae Kikuta (judo/catch wrestling), and Mark Kerr (Collegiate/Freestyle Wrestling).

Mark Kerr may not be the only wrestler to have success in the ADCC. Rodrigo 'Comprido' Medeiros has stated that Freestyle Wrestler and UFC Heavyweight Champion, Brock Lesnar, will be competing in the 2011 ADCC Tournament

well wolf, u were flying the "Askren has top notch JJ" flag not to long ago. How does it not correlate to Brock?

Um, No the fuck I wasn't. I was flying the "LOL @ the idea Hornbuckles purple belt is going to threaten Askren, who in addition to also being a purp has epic wrestling" flag. Totally different. I don't see how the flying fuck you could have confused me saying Askren would take dude down, and win a UD with wrestling with me believing he wouldn't get an arm removed in ADCC.

Further, Askren is essentially months removed from his wrestling title, not ten years, and won his title based on skills vs equally sized guys, and not based strictly on strength and power. Askren is 100% the technical wrestler Brock is.


The guy subs Shane Carwin who himself has been training MMA for only a matter of a few short years and also ten years after his pedigree, when he was half gassed to death, and now he can fucking win the ADCC?

I hope Brock does participate in the ADCC. It only promotes th eADCC that much more, plus if he makes it to the QFs, he will get more props from the anti-Brock Society of Ninjas Place.

Lesnar could strength his way through the opening of a tourney like that. Although, that was 10 years ago with Kerr.

And Brock is bigger and stronger, and prob has better jits then Kerr. He could make some noise there, no doubt.

Brock would get embarrassed at a place like ADCC come on gentlemen.

The Truth

He has a chance to score and control, but would have tough time getting deep.

Scoring is different though. He can't just lay n pray once on top or he'll get hit with passivity and negative points.

Well let us see how he does before we start calling names. I still think it would be a boon to the ADCC.

I hope he does enter and faces Werdum, who takes an arm home with him. Then Werdum would have a legitimate claim to the number 1 HW crown.
