| Can't say i expected more....i expected around 1.1 and it looks like they might of done better...and killer, i doubt Wandy had much impact on the buyrates whether he made the card or not. | |

| Wanderlei has an absolutely massive fanbase. To say he wouldn't effect the numbers of any card he's on is ridiculous. It's almost cult worthy how dedicated some of his fans are. | |

| This guy is fucking guessing! I know people who got the PPV who never buy them so I think his bean counting is probably a little low. | |

| I would contend the hardcore fanbase Wanderlei Silva has is mearly a phenotype within the greater MMA fandom species. The vast majority of that species was engaged in this card already. Any staunch anti-UFC Pride fanboys that wouldn't buy a card without Wanderlei Silva have likely been driven to extinction via natural selection by 2010. The fossil record indicates their existence in Dec 2008 which was many months after the Pride-Extinction-Event, but soon after that it gets hazy and they mostly disappear from the fossil record. It is believed pressures from the more evolved Rampage Jackson in a post Pride habitat did severe damage to Wanderlei Silva's reputation, causing a significant portion of his fan species to evolve into UFC fans or disappear from the sport alltogether.
However I would concede the likelyhood of a relic population of Wanderlei supporters in very small isolated numbers that might have pushed this card up a few thousand buys, but negligible as a whole.
I am a Mmafanis Wanderleius myself and I bought the card. | |
