| http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/sports_blog/2010/07/hbo-seeks-bradleyalexander-showdown-and-williamsmartinez-rematch.htmlGreenburg also is pushing to stage a rematch between once-beaten Paul Williams and newly crowned middleweight champion Sergio Martinez on Oct. 2.
Williams defeated Martinez by majority decision in December in Atlantic City, and he proceeded to beat super-welterweight Kermit Cintron in a disputed technical decision in an accidental-fall-shortened fight in May while Martinez defeated Kelly Pavlik.
One of the obstacles could be Williams' promoter Dan Goossen's push to move the fighter back to 147 pounds to land a shot at Floyd Mayweather Jr. or Manny Pacquiao if their tentatively scheduled Nov. 13 fight can't be made. Neither has expressed interest in fighting the taller, constantly punching Williams.

| So instead of contending for a belt in one of the most storied divisions in the sport with a major network willing to pay Williams and Goossen would rather try and make a fight with two guys that have no interest? | |

| I'm confused as to what the game plan is for PW.
Pac is going to fight Mayweather, Cotto, Margarito, or someone not named Paul Williams Mayweather is going to fight Pac, or someone not named Paul Williams
Forrest freaking Gump could figure that out. Why can't PW or his team figure it out.
His possible big money fights are a rematch with Martinez, rematch Cintron, or chase Cotto. All are at 154 and 160.

| An angel came to Paul in one of his dreams and said " go back to Welterweight, screw up all your Jr Middleweight and Middleweight paydays." |

| The thing that baffles me is Paul is meant to be a smart businessman, I read in Ring magazine that he's built himself a little property empire. |
