Alistair Overeem vs. Ricco Rodriguez at DREAM. 15

Ricco via split decision

Not bad considering the level of competition i've come to expect DREAM to give Overeem. Ricco is riding a 7 fight win streak. Back in shape and has never made anything easy. Not really a fight to take on 10 days notice...but i guess that goes both ways.

damn, thats a tough fight for any1. Glad to see him stepping up in competition, he still takes it easily i think

I will be rooting for Ricco but I dont like his chances at all.

Scott Coker needs to man up and pay Ricco to throw this fight.

If Overeem does not run right through Ricco it would be total embarressment for SF.

Ricco just fought ken sparks like a month ago. From what I hear it was pretty hard fought battle

sherdog has it listed as 1st rd KO. Ken Sparks is 5-4, 1-3 in his last 4, and hadn't fought in 2 years. This is not the Ron Sparks whom we have spoken of lately.

I remember posting a gif awhile back of Ricco landing a KO head kick. Was that his last fight?

yeah I know who we are talking about Ken is 5-4 with 3 losses coming to my close Friend RUben. He also lost in ireland and china. I havnt watched the ricco vs sparks fight but I guys who know whats up said he gave ricco a good fight( i think it was a fight at 205)

Not surprising because the fight doesnt make a ton of sense anyways.

I think it makes a lot of sense. Overeem needs to be facing quality opposition, and Ricco represents that. Brett Rogers, Ricco and then Werdum would be such an upgrade over Josh Thompson and Fujitas corpse.

I didn't post that stat captain. Kings did. There are several lesser users here who might neg you for something like that.

Ricco needs to go to the UFC or Strikeforce imo. Other options would be the Dream LHW tournament or the Bellator HW tournament.

I hope it happens, and shut up capt....Ricco is awesome, in shape and finishing fights. He's only been finished twice in his career. He's never been a pushover, especially on 10 days notice. or an easy opponent for anybody, not even when he was out of shape

It's official, Reem is off the card.

The UFC should really give Ricco a look

Wasn't he down close to 205 range? Reem will seem like Brock, especially since he can get back on his cycle.

Ricco at 205 in sf makes sense.

The UFC would be a big jump from his current level of opposition

The only logical reason that Rodriguez was ever out of the big orgs like UFC or national ones like SF, XC, Affliction, etc. had to be because of his weight, because he's never truly hit a real bad patch..even when he was out of shape he was pushing people to the limit and winning more often than not. The only loss in his career of the WTF variety is to Robert Beraun fella in 2006.

Now that he's back in shape, there is no reason that he should not be fighting 205 in UFC or SF.

He could try his hand as a small HW. I want to see some of these huge wrestlers fight some top "crusierweights" with wrestling.
