no we havnt ... I was going to after UFC 107


now if the confusion is coming from you not being the champ with having the best record ... someone suggested an idea that I said I would attempt: which was to have a champ and a first contender status that I would reward to someone who was in the top ten or was at least +15 ratio, that was on a nice roll of picks (kinda more like a real MMA ladder). Than the Champ would go H2H with the first contender in one event to see who the champ was ... the idea was 1.) Give a new twist to maybe keep people interested 2.) make it to where people just starting out wouldnt be at a 120 fight disadvantage because if they were +15 was eligable to maybe have a shot and 3.) make it seem more like an actual MMA division / weight class with champs and title shots ...

Now I have been doing this for awhile now (Oggy you just happened to win every time someone was challenging you; 3 times in fact hence the 3x champ next to your name) AND I have been asking for peoples feedback on it and nobody ever responds and I have been asking if anyone had ideas to throw in .. maybe change it to a point system. where you can get a point for picking the winner and how they won .. EX: Machida 2nd KO .. possible three points

I dont know, any ideas will be nice.

ohh sorry im not good at following directions lol. I actually like the idea now that i understand it. I know it can be frustrating doing these types of things i've done a couple of the GOR before and they were a pain to keep track of. Maybe post a reminder every once in a while on the main mma board to get more people involved, thats the only thing i can think of.

hey! some action in the Pick' em board .. I like.

Spurs pick UFC 107 by saturday ..

Bigs if you didnt see there is a [UFC 107] next to your name which means that is the one you are going H2H for ... I figured title matches should be a UFC event with 10+ fights .. rather than the others where we just pick the main card (WEC, Strikeforce, Dream) .. 4-5 fights.

I figured that's what the UFC 107 meant, bring it on Spurs!

Alright .... so as I said .. I was going to reset the records after UFC 107 to start fresh for the new year .. and maybe get some other regulars here picking these again ... Now .. UFC 107 wasnt pointless .. Bigs will start the new year as the champ, and I gave LA the first shot for multiple reasons (coming back from forum retirement and having a good showing, been chasing oggy all this time and caught him, and bobbit already had a shot) ...

Anyway .. I will still keep track of your overall record, If you do NOT want me too please tell me, that will save me some stats I have to keep track of.

and I took everybody off that did not pick on UFC 107 and moved your overall record to the Pickem participants thread .. if you want me to keep track of it post it in there.

Man, so we startin over? Shouldn't let all those picks we made go to waste. I saw we just do +/- or diff whatever, Golbez is Champ, then Bigs, then me and OG.......... but u have to pretty much still pick all events and fights per event.

you mean use the overall record for the ratio champ (to not waste those picks) and startover for the pickem champ .. or are you saying just get rid of the pickem champ and only do the ratio?

I like what you're doing Golbez, now that I understand it. It really does remind me of the real MMA ladder, someone is champ and whoever is on a good run deserves a chance to dethrone the champ. Keep up the good work man, I'm sure I'm not the only one who appreciates it.

I said after UFC 107 .. so it didnt start there for the new records .. but it did count for who the champ and first contender was .. which is you.. I still have everyones overall record next to their name, go to the first post in this thread and check it out.

updated with Strikeforce and WEC 45 ... if you do not see your name on the list .. I removed for not picking .. comment here or at the pickem particpants thread if you want to pick ..

though, I did keep bumping a reminder to pick these events ...

oh and with how many people are participating .. it looks like I will do a top5 instead of top10.. and there isnt enough difference to start a top5 yet.

I am on your side Buddy. I haven't been doing it consistently, but anything that makes it exciting I think is good!

I like the idea of a points system a point for picking the winner, a point for picking the how or round, and maybe a bonus point(s) for the trifecta!

I appreciate the keeping overall records, but agree we need to go for either an overall comp. for the year or we could have a quarterly champion and have the four quarterly champs go against each other in the final MMA match of the year.

You are doing an outstanding job and I will make more of an effort to stay on top of it. Thanks again Buddy.
