Fedor not a fan of the UFC:

Fedor Emelianenko had some strong criticisms for the UFC during a Friday teleconference call touting his June 26 bout against Fabricio Werdum at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif.

The 34-year-old Emelianenko was asked which upcoming heavyweight bout between UFC 116’s Brock Lesnar-Shane Carwin and his own fight against Werdum had more relevance. The stoic fighter predictably gave credence to his own affair. However, Emelianenko dropped an eye-opening remark while doing it.

“I think both fights are very important because you’ve got basically four world-class heavyweights in the top 10 of their sport, but I’m not a UFC fan,” said Emelianenko, who has two fights left with Strikeforce under a co-promotional agreement with M-1 Global. “So, I would invite all the fans to watch our fight that I believe is more important because we’re not in the UFC.”

When asked later why he didn’t approve of the world’s No. 1 promotion, the most sought-after fighter in the sport said it was a combination of how the UFC presented its events and how its fighters carried themselves.

"What I meant to say was I’m not a fan of watching their fights,” said Emelianenko. “Compared to a lot of the commercials and the promotion and anticipation of their fights and compared to a lot of the shows that I’ve seen, there seems to be a negativity involved in a lot of their shows, so I’m just not a fan of watching their programs.

“I think the combination (of presentation and fighter attitude) -- in some ways how the fights are presented and the manner they're presented and also in some ways the actions and behavior of a lot of the fighters from the UFC -- it takes away from the sport."

Emelianenko was offered a multi-fight, seven-figure contract with the UFC last summer, but declined the offer. Emelianenko went on to sign with Strikeforce -- which is willing to co-promote with his M-1 Global management on shows he appears in -- a couple of weeks later.

He has a way better chance to keep his record with Strikeforce. Three to four guys in the UFC who you could see beating him on a given night. He took the easy road if you ask me.

I'm trying to think this is a big deal...but what does this mean? I kind of always figured Fedor as not a fan of UFC. I would not be suprised to find out he's probably not much of an MMA fan period.

Fedor only said this because he watched Junie Browning a few times on TUF. He probably puked from the lact of respect Browning had for life in general. He is a man of God first, and a fighter second. If he signs with UFC in a few fights he would say the same thing. Just the kind of guy he is. I don't think this story should be interpreted as him not ever wanting to be a part of the UFC. His last contract he was looking out for his business imo. If he resigns with SF after the Reem fight then I will go back to the Fedor is scared of the UFC HW's thing.

What is Fedor talking about? Negativity in the UFC's shows? Is he reading between the cage a little much? I think so.

Just get your ass to the UFC and dominate.

Fedor thinks that because he lives in an anti-UFC bubble where all his handlers and associates condition him to hate the UFC more and more. The crap Dana pulled originally has burned this bridge, and especially when that bridge's nonexistence means so much money for Fedor Inc's employees.

If Fedor doesn't sign with the UFC after his SF contract is up...................

I wouldn't say he was a coward but defending him from strange men from Kentucky wouldn't be a priority anymore.

Even if Strikeforce can find and generate contenders of the level of the new guys in the UFC which isn't likely anyway, his legacy and public perception will be damaged forever.

I was waiting for Fedor to do his best Robert Duvall impression "I love the smell of Vadim's ball sack in the morning. I remember one time I was sucking his short dick for hours and hours, while he told me how bad the UFC was for me. After all that sucking though, not one drop of splooge hit the back of my throat. I didn't say would beat , I said you could meaning on a given night they "could" beat him. I'm sorry but I could see Brock , Carwin , Dos Santos and Cain given Fedor a real tough fight. Again I am NOT saying they would 100% beat him. Just think if Brock or Carwin was on top of him like Rogers was .... Lights out .
