Ufc 115 projected 520000 buys

From Meltzer's newsletter:

"The very preliminary PPV numbers were estimated at 520,000 buys, which is more than I expected. Keep in mind that any number we get less than two weeks after the show is only a very preliminary estimate and the final number could vary greatly."

Looks like I may be right wolfy.

That's a pretty good number considering it was a replacement fight.

That would be a pretty historic number for a non title fight. It will fall well below 5 to closer to 4 though.

It was not a replacement fight actually..as far as the reality show is concerned, yeah...but Liddell/Ortiz was never official for UFC 115. Liddell/Franklin was the original main event for the show.

So, i say a pretty good number considering it was a fight between one guy who is done and another guy who is no longer a contender(IMO)

Nice Zuffa, when the real number falls back to around 450 or less, like Forrest and Tito did, everyone will still remember the preliminary numbers and this card a success. Good stuff.

Wolf, come on. It is the UFC not Affliction. I told you their numbers are getting better and they are garnering more attention than ever before. MMA has a show on ESPN2, they are getting the shit promoted out of them by ESPN, even on Sportscenter and you expected their numbers to be around 150K? You have too much anti-UFC in you. Pride is not coming back no matter how much you personally bash them. You have a slightly better chance of the Soviet Union returning than that.

No andrew, I expected them to be around 4-450, I said that numerous times. Further, I know Pride isn't coming back and I don't dislike the UFC at all. I no doubt order more UFC cards than you do. As someone who orders the UFC as much as I do I have a right to criticize. I do think garbage main events and cards should go away though. Granted the card was action packed, but so was Wensdays Strikeforce, and the last King of the Cage I watched. For 50 bucks when it is the UFC, I need a UFC quality event. 115 wasn't that.
