| I will wait to see how free agency shakes up before I press judgement on the upcoming season.
With all the big names out there, any team can become heavily stacked and become a championship caliber team overnight.

I love the Lakers I got your Brownie Button right here, LA. I know you're excited and flying high with emotion, but you're delusional if you think they are grabbing another one next year. They didn't exactly have an easy path this time around and the rest of the young NBA is only getting better. Cleveland, Orlando, Phoenix, Portland, Atlanta, Utah, Denver and even Dallas are all built more for the future than the Lakers. I think the only contender aging worse is the Spurs. 4 of 5 starters over ten years in the league and all four of them looking like their best years are behind them... They will have to make a killer deal or two in the off season (With no real tools to do anything) to freshen that roster enough for me to even think they have a shot at reaching the Finals next season. Enjoy the 5 in 11 years, because that's the end of this run my boy...

| If they have Gasol, Artest and Kobe, as long as they bring along the right role players they'll have a shot.
But Phill is done for now. I know this isn't a three-peat, but this is three straight finals trips, so I am sure the stress is at least the same but probably way worse.
Phill's prolly singin meatloaf "2 out of 3 aint bad."

| OKC will win a playoff series next season. Calling that now.
If Lakers get Bosh they will 3 peat no doubt. Even if they don't they have a good chance. But it won't be easy.

Honestly, the teams you listed couldn't even beat the Celtics and the Lakers went through the motions past half of them. Not even reach the Finals next season? are you fucking kidding me? They'll go to the next 3 Finals with Kobe, Pau, Artest, Odom, Bynum(or Bosh) and whoever else they pick up along the way.

Yes, the free agents don't scare me at all, unless LeBron, Wade and Bosh play for the same team, I could care less where they go.

| I understand people being homers, but let's have a little realism mixed in. Like I said before, FOUR OF FIVE STARTERS have 10+ years in the league and all four are CLEARLY not what they were just a year or two ago. Not to mention, there's no assurance that the Zen Master whill be anywhere near LA next season. Even if he does return, he's obviously not as motivated as he once was either. Meanwhile, the rest of the upper teams are still young (Except Spurs and Suns) and are on the upward swing. I'm not going to argue with ignorance on this... Just keep this thread around so I can give a HUGE "I TOLD YOU SO" at this time next year. Remember the rebuild and drought in the 90's Laker fan?... Get ready for the sequel... | |

| Bro, when I made a thread like this last year I got similar responses, so all I can say is I told you so. No team in the West has a chance at all, not a chance, who could beat them in a 7 game series the next couple years let alone next year. The Mavs, choke artists, 1st rd exit, OKC to young even if the got Bosh which they can't, I don't think they could do it, the Nuggets please, Portland not ready, so who? The East lets say Bron stays in Cleveland, they haven't even gotten to the Finals the last 2 years when they were the favorites no reason to believe they will next year, plus I think Bron is a bit of a choker, Boston had they're last run, and Orlando isn't strong minded enough. Now lets make a team, Bron goes to Chi-town they'll need a season to gel it won't happen right away, Wade goes to Ch-town, same thing, Wade and Amare or Bosh in Miami, nice team but not enough. Also they aren't that old, and Boston was the oldest team in the league and look where they were this season, hmmm. | |

| A last quick point
Playing through these battles like this brings a team closer together and they learn how to win big games, what they went through together this season can not be matched by any team, the Celtics have the closest claim, but that team won't be the same next year. This team could be ven better next season, and now Artest has played a whole season with them. We might get another solid PG in the offseason too.
