| this fight crept up fast. In my opinion Werdum is underrated by a lot of mma fans, he's a legit threat to most HW's, i just don't see him having much to offer against Fedor though. I expect another dominating performance and a finish at some point. Overeem is next. Then.... who knows what will happen. | |

| Werdum is a top 10 heavyweight and has great submissions
problem is i just dont see anyone beating Fedor via submission
if The cyborg loses it will be via knockout, still this is the top heavyweight in the world vs a legit top 10 opponent, cant wait

| He's borderline top 10. His ground game is sick, but his stand up leaves a lot to be desired. I don't think he stands much of a chance vs the top tier guys. | |

| Werdum has beaten a lot of other top teir guys. The knockout loss to Dos Santos you'd think would look less tragic for his career now that Dos Santos is a future title challenger with numerous top wins, but it really doesn't.
Werdum has decent striking. He just isn't as good as Fedor.

| Honestly if Werdum gets this to the ground(and on top of Fedor) I believe he can win this and sub Emelienanko. Fedor has never faced a grappler as good as Werdum and there isn't anyone else in the world that I know of who is on par with Werdum's skills on the ground and the same size as he is(gonzaga would probably be a good place to start and get a feel for things but I doubt Fedor is training with Gabriel). | |

| Big Nog has the better MMA resume, Werdum has the better overall credentials. | |

Based on? When they fought they really didn't do much on the ground other than try to pass and regain guard(butterfly for Werdum), they essentially cancelled each other out on the ground for the most part.

| It's not as open and shut as people are making it...especially since i'm getting the feeling that even Fedor may be looking ahead to the Reem. | |

| Werdum may be the best on the ground in one persons opinion, but Big Nog and Mir have better if not comparable ground games and Fedor's isn't exactly mediocre you know? | |

| Mir doesn't even belong in this discussion. Mir has sub wins over Sylvia, Abbott, Hardonk and Lesnar, not exactly blackbelts club, an irrelevant travan who lost all his MMA bouts, and a bunch of no-gi grappling losses to small guys. | |

Nog has top notch submission skills and he had nothing to offer Fedor. And I don't see werdum lasting a fights worth of Fedor gn'p so he'll have less chances to catch Fedor.

Nogueira wasn't trying to gain top control on Fedor, Werdum will if he's smart. If Werdum gets on top of Fedor it could be a very short fight afterward.

| Werdum is a big target for Fedor, plain and simple. Werdum is a lot bigger than Nog, but just as slow moving, and with worse boxing [but better muay thai].
You have to give the BJJ edge to Werdum over Nog -- he's more accomplished in grappling. But he will just be too slow for Fedor.
Fedor will get in and out with relative ease before he lands the bomb. If Werdum gets Fedor down, then I hate to think of what Brock or Carwin would do with Fedor.
And Werdum is a legit opponent, but he's borderline top ten.
