| Kilrain was a bad ass bareknuckle fighter, Fox ran the Police Gazzette and claimed Kilrain Heavyweight Champ in the late 1800s
no clue, gonna say his trainer, Sam Langford, or George Dixon
Willie Monroe and Billy Watts, Watts was controversial
Emile Griffith
Hopefully for Cossell's sake he said Ray Robinson

(5) Who was Howard Cossell's pick as "The Greatest Fighter of all Times?" Kilrain was the last bare knuckle champ. Sullivan beat him. Fox was a newspaper guy (?) who fancied himself the keeper of the championship belt back in the day. Joe Louis' idol? WAG Sam Langford. Hagler's losses were Monroe and Boogaloo. Bad Bennie Brisco almost got Monzon in one of those fights. Coseel's pick? No idea. SRR?

Hopefully for Cossell's sake he said Ray Robinson You did very well. Change Billy to Eugene, Emile Griffith to Bennie Brisoce and Ray Robinson to Joe Louis and you're perfect. Joe Louis's idol was Sam Langford and you answered the 1st question right, which makes this a really impressive effort.

I had a few Buds last night and starting putting up things that I knew most wouldn't know. I'm surprised that people answered as many as they did. I've seen trivia on here where I didn't know any of the answers so I know how you feel. It's easier to create one of these than to take it. lol

Coseel's pick? No idea. SRR? This is a perfect score except for Robinson. Cossell liked Louis as the greatest . Yeah but the Langford guess on Louis was a compelte guess. To be brutally honest, that's even more impressive Marb. You had to know the history of boxing back in the time of Louis and form a quick elimination list. For example, you had to know it wasn't, Jack Johnson, who was Joe's polar opposite. There were lots of good black HWs back then but few as famous as Sam Langford. As far as the Cossell question, I should've left that one off. He stated that once when he was paying his respects to Joe Louis, who had just left us. I just happened to be watching the show.

Well Sam had handled on a couple of occasions the great Jack Blackburn, Louis' trainer, when Blackburn was a GREAT lightweight. So I figured Balckburn had done some sotrytelling.

. Just a fun fact. Fox was in a restaurant and wanted John L. Sullivan to give him an interview. An arrogant John refused. Fox went on a crusade to find a fighter to beat Sullivan and it ended up being Kilrain. The fight has a history to it that's lots of fun, but I'll just state here that John beat him so bad, Kilrain would start most rounds going down on his on. Sullivan would approach him and before he got there, Kilrain would go down again. It was Jack London and Jack Johnson without the race factor.
