Marcos Maidana faking back injury

Multiple sources have advised BoxingScene.com that WBA interim-junior welterweight champion Marcos Maidana is going through an internal battle with his manager from Argentina, Mario Margossian. The conflict has been brewing behind the scenes for a few weeks.

Based on the story going around, Margossian promised Maidana a certain amount of money for a fight with WBO junior welterweight Timothy Bradley. It's being alleged that Margossian negotiated a purse figure without receiving the final approval from Maidana. When Maidana caught wind of the actual amount, it's being alleged that he used the excuse of a back injury to withdraw from two scheduled dates with Bradley, and also turned down a potential fight with Amir Khan for July 31.

Bradley's promoter Gary Shaw placed the back injury story under question after Maidana's side failed to provide him with any medical documentation or treatment records for the injury. I hear the dispute between Maidana and Margossian is heading in the direction of a court house battle.

well at least it seems like maidana isnt just backing out because hes scared. hopefully it all gets fixed then we can see him fight some more.

I dont see Maidana ducking anyone. I hope this gets settled fast. This stupid crap happens way too much to my favorite fighters. Allan Green did this shit a few years ago also.

This is the kind of thing that can almost put me off boxing at times....

Its a pity, Guerrero had this problem with both his old manager and his old promoter (led to a lot of inactivity). Guerrero is a 9 going to 10 year pro and only has 30 fights. It sucks because its a huge waste of time. These guys dont have much time in the sport and should avoid court battles. Hopefully this settles soon, but I dont think that will happen.
