| I'm not even thinking about Green because he's several classes below the rest of the fighters in the SS. Maybe the biggest fight in the tourney is between Dirrell and Ward. Ward outclasses Kessler and will do the same to the cocky Green. Dirrell clearly beat Froch and AA. Now this will be a very important fight because it's a must win for dirrell or else he isn't making the final 4. Dirrell is the flashiest of the bunch, but Ward is the most skillful fighter ever seen at 168. Dirrell is a very good outside fighter but doesn't know how to fight in the inside. When someone engages him in the inside, he hold, slips and takes a knee so the ref can reposition him and his opponent. Dirrell is in fact a runner, plain and simple, there's to other way to describe his style of fighting. Ward on the other hand is good all around. He's maybe the best inside fighter in the world. Once he's inside it's hard to get out. Ward will be able to cut the ring off on dirrell and corner and mug him in the inside all night. Dirrell only knows the outside and once takes that field away, he will easily win. Dirrell is one dimentinal and it's weird because most one dimentional fighters only know the come foward and fight strategy. | |

| Dirrell's speed could be key and he used it real well vs AA outboxing in the middle of the ring
I agree that once things get rough, Dirrell goes into safety 1st mode
Gotta see how SOG looks vs Green.

| the good thing for dirrell is that ward doesnt have a huge punch and that seems to have been the trouble in his last 2 fights. i do think that ward will win but i think that dirrell is a bit quicker and can steal some rounds, but not enough to take the fight. with that being said, i wouldnt be surprised if dirrell won, but i definitely wouldnt bet on him.
p.s. if soonermark sees that you said that allan green is worse than everybody in the tourny, he will flip.

| Ward has good hand and foot speed. Dirrell's may be even better. This matchup intrigues me. I can see Dirrell out quicking Ward in a lot of rounds (especially early) Ward reminds me of old school fighters as he knows how to fight and adjusts pretty well to what is occuring in the fight. I see Dirrell jumping out, Ward adjusting in the middle rounds, and then it all gets decided late. Dirrell will probably be faced with the same choice he had versus Froch, run and lose, or try to pick it up a notch, and re-take control of a fight late. | |

| Sooner knows how little I think of Green, it pisses him off just how I use to tell Ali how much of a bum Hatton was. I speak the truth. If Ward dominates Green I'm sure we'll see more people n the bandwagon, but if he struggles Dirrell will be viewed as a live dog when they fight. A lot will be on the line in stage 3, I think we'll see all six fighters fight extremely hard in order to make in the the second stage of the tourney. I however feel Ward will dominate Dirrell based on him not knowing how to fight on the inside, that where I expect Ward to bring the fight. | |

| I disagree with your opinion of the fight, but I agree wholeheartedly that the next round of the super 6 is going to have fighters really laying it on the line.
I hope that Bute continues winning fights. The winner of the super 6 versus Bute would be a rather big event and icing on the cake if the tourney finishes strong.

| just got back from florida and see many great topics..ward is a better fighter than dirrell is all i can out outside of the 168 lb tourney thing is the best thing that happened for boxing in years.. on green dont count him out yet..hes a dam good puncher fast hands and terrific left hook that could turn any fight around..i agree that ward and direll are a level or 2 above him in class and style and the heavy hitters in that tourney can perhaps take him out but i view him as a dangerous fighter with shock value..is he in over his head..i dont think soo but he should be the underdog in most of the matchups here..the ward fight just may be the worst matchup possible for green.. | |

| Green lost to Miranda so I really don't think too much of him. I agree that Ward beats him without too much trouble. I also think Ward will beat Dirrell. In fact I think Andre Ward may be the best fighter in the world not named Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather. Hes shown in his fights that he has all the most important traits, in my mind anyway, necessary to be a very good world class fighter. Hes shown a solid chin, composure, good movement, respectable power, stamina and mental toughness. He can do everything and he does it all well. | |
