| I do agree that Wlad has no Bowe to have a trilogy with. I wish he did. | |

| It's not like i'm a huge fan of the Klitschko bros, but I do think most of their fights are entertaining, and a lot of the criticism they get seems petty. When you look at all the current divisions in boxing and compare them objectively, the Heavyweight division really isn't all that bad, it seems like the HW division has a double standard. | |

It's not so much as a double standard as it is a simple reality. In the lower divisions guys have more options. Better fighters below them could move up or they could move up themselves to find better fights. The heavies have the cruiserweight division but outside of 3 or 4 guys in the entire history of the division, it's been bad. It's not a criticism of the brothers, it's just the current situation. BTW, I feel Vitali would have fared quite well in a much tougher era than his brother. In a tougher era, Wlad would have his chin checked early and often and we all have seen how he reacts when he gets tagged. Not well.

- Moorer was nothing special. Foreman was in his 40's. You had Tyson (when he wasn't in jail) who was already in decline, Bowe, Holyfield, and Lewis. I watched it all unfold and enjoyed it, and all the while listened to people talk about how all the fighters sucked and how bad the division was compared to the ' good old days'. Now people are saying the same thing but are holding up the 90's as being superior.
Canvas, I think the Klits would've fit into the 90's. Meaning that they would've competed against the best fighters the 90s had. Would they have won? I have them doing well until they get to Lennox Lewis. Holyfield gives everyone a hard time. I don't know how clear I can make it. The Klits are good. Their competition stinks. You can't say that Chambers and Bowe are both of equal ability with a straight face. But the Klits are good enough to take on much better fighters than they are offered. It's not their fault. By the way, when I was in the 90s, I loved the HW division. I don't remember wishing for anything else where they were concerned.

In a tougher era, Wlad would have his chin checked early and often and we all have seen how he reacts when he gets tagged. Not well. Vitali is a tough mo-fo, if i'm not mistaken he started off his pro career as a kickboxer, if you know anything about kickboxing, you know it's not for the faint hearted and neither is MMA, i'm sure Vitali has done some of that as well. So I agree, Vitali, because of his toughness, and size would have done well in any HW era, Wlad would also do well in most HW eras, but his chin would always be his Achilles heel.

| The division is pretty poor at the moment, just look at Ring's top 10
Champion: Wladimir Klitschko #1 Vitali Klitschko #2 David Haye #3 Alexander Povetkin #4 Tomasz Adamek #5 Ruslan Chageav #6 Eddie Chambers #7 Denis Boytsov #8 Nikolai Valuev #9 Alexander Dimitrenko #10 Chris Arreola
Haye is a former Cruiserweight, Adamek is a former Light Heavyweight, Arreola doesn't take training serious, Boytsov hasn't even defeated a top ten opponent and Valuev is a 7ft freak show.
I agree with Krazy, I could see Vitali being able to compete in other era's . |
