Mine is Tommy Morrison vs Michael Bentt. Something like 12 million on the table for a Lennox Lewis bout if he could beat the unheralded Bentt. But apparently Tommy thought so little of Bentt that he partied it up instead of trained and................................BOOM!! HEADSHOT!!!!

I agree with your pick. If Morrison had fought Lewis at THAT point in Lennox career, he may well have won on a KO. Lewis was still very clumsy and limited. He had not yet learned to protect his chin and use his jab, size, and reach to control the pace of a fight. I think he and Morrison would have looked a lot like Morrison and Ruddock did a few years later. By the time Morrison got back to a Lewis fight, Lennox was a much, much better fighter and Tommy was dominated.

Loreto Garza vs Edwin Rosario. Rosario was supposed to be washed up and get Garza a recognizable name fighter in the win column. Instead, Chap landed a huge right hand over the jab 9 seconds into the fight and Garza never had a shot.

I actually re-watched that Leis-Morrison fight not too long ago and was surprised how much more disciplined Lewis was in that fight as opposed to many of his earlier fights. Emmanuel did a wonderful job maximizing out Lennox's natural gifts.

Ahhh, that's a good one too. I remember Loreto looking like he didn't understand that it was just Chapo in the ring there with him hitting him and not a group of guys with lead pipes going upside his head.

[b]Roy Jones vs Danny Green[b]
This was supposed to be a fight that allowed Jones to shine against a limited fighter while picking up a "trinket" in another division. The goal was to restore luster to Jones and increase the viewership and money for his bout with Hopkins. Instead, the always fragile chin of Roy Jones was shattered with one punch in one round and Jones would up fighting Hopkins for FREE

UGGGHHHHH I have never hated watching someone lose as much as I hated watching Tommy lose.

Even though he was cheated, does anyone remember Casamayor vs Cruz? That was flat out a robbery. Nobody told Cruz that he was supposed to be a tune up! LOL!

Good subject, Crazy Horse. Larry Holmes vs. Mike Weaver: Weaver entered the ring with a record of 20 - 8, however he had gone through a "Rocky" like metamorphesis. One of the best HW fights I've ever seen. Holmes won by a pre-mature 12round stoppage.
Mike Tyson vs. Buster Douglass: Douglass served the purpose of getting Tyson sharp for Holyfield. You know the rest of the story.

some of the answers seem more like normal upsets rather than a tune up fight gone wrong. how about morales vs raheem. it was a tune up for the second fight with pac. that went horribly wrong even thought morales and pac still fought.
