| My whole opinion about this fight is that it won't get made anyway. Bob Arum is a joke. He's 78 years old (or something like that) and he can't find a way to outsmart Floyd Jr. and make this fight. Also, I get the idea that Golden Boy and Bob think their personal pride is more important than the fight itself. A promoter knows that the objective here is to get the fighers in the ring, not bring attention to themselves. You go to both camps and make them feel as if their getting the biggest piece of the pie. I repeat, how does a 78 year old, seasoned, experienced promoter let himself get goaded by a manchild like Mayweather? Also, Oscar De La Hoya seems to want to use the promotion of this fight to discredit Manny's win over hiim, something he still hasn't learned to accept. I think this fight has one hope to come off. Jerry Jones. He's a new fresh face and has no history with either fighter. He's used to dealing with idiot athletes and would have the fight as his primary objective. Maybe Jones would have to pay the fighters a little more, but that would be an advantage for the promotion itself. Dallas would be introduced as a great new fight city. It works for everyone. | |

Those are good points, dmar. My main point is that I would hope the fight could be taken out of the hands of the present promoters. That's a pipe dream because of the contractual obligations each fighter has to their respective promoters. However, with the Floyd, Arum situation, I would think that a man of Arum's experience would have enough sense not to get into a public argument with Floyd Mayweather. It's embarrassing on his part as he should be above such things at this point in his life. I'll admit, I'm also disgusted with Arum's association with Margarito. Anyway, what ever will be, will be.

| If it happens at all, I don't believe Pac-PBF will get made anywhere but in Vegas. | |

| No way does Vegas get out bid for this fight. I believe the MGM would spend what ever it takes to get it. If the money is even between both sites, Mayweather will insist on Vegas.
But I am very skeptical this fight will ever happen.

| Vegas can afford to ridiculously over-bid for the fight because they'll make it back and then some on the high rollers at the tables. Dallas, on the other hand, offers absolutely nothing for people outside of viewing the fight. It's a wasteland in that aspect. | |

If I presently had the power that Jerry J. does, I'd start plans right now in creating casinos all over Dallas. This type of wild image fits the city anyway. If Mississippi did it, Dallas can do it. This is must me having fun thinking about all this. I know the reality is that if the fight happens, it'll be in Vegas.

But I am very skeptical this fight will ever happen. Like I said in another thread Canvas, i'd like to see this fight, but I ain't holding my breath, I couldn't give a shit less if it ever happens.
