| While just a fraction of the since debunked UFC rumored contract, this is still one of the richest deals ever proposed in MMA history. http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2009/7/30/969510/details-emerging-on-strikeforceNotes of the deal -
Co Promotion is part of the deal.
The deal has less guaranteed per fight than what the UFC offered(according to the latest rumors, which puts it at less than two million a fight guaranteed), but it has more fights on the contract.
Non-exclusive. Fedor can fight elsewhere.
One million per fight guaranteed, half payed by Strikeforce, half by CBS.
The deal could also involve future PPVs, (Shotime is CBS ya know)where Fedor would receive a portion of the cut.
This deal is lucrative and definitely more what Fedor's self serving manager is looking for. Expect Strikeforce to win the Fedor Sweepstakes.

| And fighting Rogers, Werdum, and Overeem...I guess those are good fights, but no Lesnar, Couture, and Silva. | |

| The problem is that I have 0 faith in any of those fighters beating him. People say Werdum can sub him, but have we really forgot that Werdum doesn't like being hit? | |

| Couture isn't a good fight. Really all the UFC has is Lesnar, Carwin and Cain, and all of these fighters have been created in the last 12 months. Therefore other contenders could easily emerge outside the UFC just as easily. | |

| Absolutely it is. He needs to be in the UFC, not only to face the top competition, but so he can finally be recognized universally as the greatest fighter of all-time.
He needs Zuffa's money and the UFC's promotional strength to inform the masses of his past accomplishments(which they have ignored and downplayed until now)en route to selling huge PPVs while defeating the UFC's HWs.
Without signing with the UFC, he will ALWAYS be the "what if" guy in MMA history. As the years go on, his legacy will go from solid to questioned. And that's just wrong.

| No, I'm saying as time goes on, he'll fade to that without the UFC carrying his legacy on.
He's certainly not a "what if" guy to me, you or anyone on this board, but we're going to be the microscopic minority of MMA fans worldwide in 25 years. What will they think of Fedor without ever being in the UFC?

| In 25 the MMA landscape will be so different that I am sure Dana White misinformation won't carry the day. In 25 years all new fans will know about MMA from today is what sportswriters tell them. Find a respected sportswriter from today that doesn't like Fedor.
I'm not worried.
Especially if Fedor trashes everyone on CBS.

| It really does suck balls but I want to see what the UFC actually did offer him. Personally, I think getting the ESPN deal done is way better for the sport, maybe not for current die hard fans, but for the sport to evolve it is. | |

| What if he lost to a garbage fighter like Rogers, Werdum or Overeem? That would be horrible for him. A loss to someone like Lesnar might not hurt his legacy, but a loss to Overeem would certainly not be good for him. | |
