This fight reminded me of another thread regarding fighters not having power. Mitchell just couldn't slow him down. Katsidis just walked to him and wailed away. Not much complexity.

It was almost like man vs boy. Kevin used to be a Super Featherweight, this was his third Lightweight fight I think. Maybe he's not strong enough for the division ?

It sure looked that way. He had .22 caliber punches and Katsidis fought like he was wearing armor. It didn't look to me like Mitchell could even make him think. Mitchell seems to know what he's doing, was tough enough and he hit Katsidis plenty, but it didn't seem to matter.

Kevin does have decent power, he was after all able to keep Breidis Prescott honest.

Katsidis was sparring in the dressing room right before the fight.

Great post. Katsidis is a savage. I hope he gets the Marquez-Diaz winner before jumping to 140. He looks much better and I think he stops either one.

Thanks Ali. I was out trying to destroy my liver when this fight was on, so I never got a chance to watch it.

Mitchell really showed his big-fight inexperience when he was hurt early in the third.

from what i had seen of both of them previously, i picked katsidis to win so wasnt surprised. i knew that prescott wasnt nearly at katsidis' level nor his pressure level. mitchell just didnt impress me in his last fight.
