| JDS ate counter lefts all night and had a busted nose, with both eyes swollen shut and cut. Mirko landed a lot more than people realize. | |

JDS didn't kill CC's nuts either. Overeem was dirty in that fight. K-1 Reem wins, MMA JDS wins imo.

| Wolf is right, JDS definetly did not go through the CroCop fight untouched, Mirko landed a lot of straight lefts and scuffed up JDS face quite a bit.
I like JDS a lot but Overeem would beat him fairly soundly IMO. He's bigger, more well rounded and just more skilled in the standup. Matchips make fights, and i think Overeem is a bad matchup for dos Santos.

| Overeem leaving himself in a position to get hit is what will cost him fights, so I'm curious to see his defense against a solid striker. I still question Overeem's ability to take huge amounts of damage. His best K-1 win is Badr, but it's easy to forget Badr came back to TKO Overeem last year in their second fight. Fedor is really good at finding buttons, and Overeem has repeatedly demonstrated an accessable off switch throughout his career. JDS and Overeem isn't a fight I would comfortably predict a winner in. | |

| Overeem landed numerous very damaging shots in that fight and had Liddell hurt bad. Liddell won only by his now lost ability to take more damage than his opponent in a slugfest. | |

There are a couple of problems with that comparison 1) That was a very young Overeem fighting a Liddell that was damn close to the prime of his career at that point. 2) Overeem was fighting at 205 which I and MANY other people always said was a dumb move for him. He has absolutely horrible stamina at 205 because of the weight cut. He has clearly shown whether it be against scrubs or not that his weight class is heavy and he is a much better fighter at that weigth. 3) Overeem was absolutely dominating that fight until Chuck landed the haymaker. Overeem early in his career crumbled at the first sign of adversity. It appears, to me at least, that he has matured greatly since the early years at 205 and deals with adversity much much better. His recent K-1 dealings seem to show that IMO. 4) Overeems striking at that point were not even close to what it is right now.

| I think JDS can take more damage then Reem, just my opinion, but I think he has a good chin.
I just see JDS landing that big shot and dropping Reem.

| I don't disagree with you there. I think JDS can take more damage but what I do think would actually happen is that Overeem would submit him. Call me crazy but that is exactly what I think would happen. His jits skills are very underrated. | |

Thats fine, we just have a different idea of what domination is.

There I'll give it to ya, haven't seen JDS on the ground yet, I know he trains with the Nogs though and did with Maia

| No matter what you think about Overeem, one thing can not be denied. The guy is a fucking finisher, he finishes fights damn it.
In 33 wins the guy only has 1 decision, 1 damn decision and that was back in 2006. That is exactly why I love Ubereem.

| one consideration on reem vs Chuck is that Alistair was just 23 in that fight, fighting what some consider to be the best ever 205 in his prime and 10 yrs his senior.
I also think reem had chuck in major trouble b4 getting caught.
conversely, reem, as wolf has pointed out, has made a habit of getting caught even as he has matured. 6 ko losses as well as a submission by strikes on his rap sheet.
Although none of those fights featured the physical monster that we now know reem to be.

| Yeah, Overeem was just a kid when he was fighting the teeth of the LHW class and obviously not the same fighter physically, mentally and skill wise now.
It's written in stone but i don't think the Pride days mean dick anymore when discussing Overeem.
Credit his physical boom to what you want, but the fact is, he is in fact a fucking monster now physically and his skills, while never a problem are sharpened now.

| At one point it looked like Cro Cop was on the verge of stopping JDS. I think Reem would beat him. I've been saying it for a while... Reem over Brock via Guillotine if he dont knock him out first. __________________ | |
