My thoughts on 113 Empty
PostSubject: My thoughts on 113   My thoughts on 113 EmptyWed May 12, 2010 1:34 pm

Not that anyone cares too much... lol. I haven't been in since Thursday and it's too big a pain to wade through three pages of topics to weigh in on... I'll try and keep it short...

I thought Shogun was fantastic. Machida looked fast and ready, and for the first couple of minutes I was thinking that this could be a near mirror copy of the first fight... Then it was over. WOW...

Daley's a bitch and deserves to be out of the UFC... Koscheck is a bitch as well and should cop to that "illegal knee" never even coming close to touching him. GSP shouldn't toy with him like he did the first time, and should end this fast. Not looking forward to seeing these two doing TUF and stretching the timeline of the fight until the end of the year.

Not overly impressed with either Stout or Stephens and all that fight proved was neither is on an elite level and that fight shouldn't have been on the main card.

Mitrione is still a low level HW and proved that Kimbo was a joke in the UFC... Good riddance. I hope Dana doesn't sign a sideshow again... Oh wait, we still have to bare witness to James Toney...

I was very impressed with Alan Belcher. He's improving with every fight and moving up the rankings... Dana, give this guy a new contract giving him some deserved jack so he can get that nasty tattoo removed!

Kudos to Doerksen... He looked totally outclassed in the first round by Severn, but pulled that submission out his ass.

Wish I could have seen the Davis and MacDonald fights... I've always liked Davis and will look for the video to see those hands fly. I've heard that MacDonald's break was nasty. I need to find that video as well... Things like that are like a car wreck, you just can't look away...

Now, a few weeks back when Mousasi lost, someone was calling me out night of the fight as if I was the only Mousasi fan on this board. In fact, this "valued member" went as far as to suggest that I'm constantly owned and made to look bad because I thought highly of such fighters as Wagnney Fabiano and Mousasi. I'm not seeing a sign of this little fella any where... Has he had the "stones" to show up since fight night to accept that his guy isn't invincible afterall... Or is he just off somewhere killing as many brain cells as possible in hopes to eradicate any memory of Saturday night?

Good thoughts, I agree. LA bailed because Wolf was being a douche. Big surprise huh?

There you go LTFG a gif of the Mac leg break.
IMO there has been a total overreaction to the Machida-Shogun fight. Machida getting written off and even asked by some on here to go to MW. Shogun is being given god status by a couple on here(Wolf leading that charge).

Well, I'll leave my quick jab here as the only poke at LA. We all know that fighters rise and fall... That goes for all of them not named Fedor (yet). Some just run their mouths (errr keyboards) wrecklessly until the inevitable wake up call... LA'll shake it off unless Wolf decides to keep his foot on his neck... Wolf does have a good side I think, and might show mercy here.

I am really looking forward to seeing Lil Nog and the Evans-Rampage fight, now more than ever...

Damn, that was wicked... Hope that doesn't end his career.

I'm also a big Shogun fan. But I know that the LHW division is as tough as they come and anyone can lose at any time. There's always a bad match-up. Machida is a stud and should be in that upper group for years and could easily hold the belt again.

stout vs stephens was one of the best fights on the card imo even if they did neutralize each other.

It was a good fight Kevin... Wasn't saying it wasn't. They just aren't in the upper echelon at LW is all...

I agree Shogun was just WOW, Daley and Kos both pussied out, Stout fight was ehh, and Mittrione slapped around Kimbo, big fucking deal. Still it was a fun night, Belcher looked really good and that was a fun ass fight, especially the slam

you missed it LA was claiming Shogun got a lucky shot and he kinda went into hiding for a few days when nobody agreed

I'm not going to pile on him... I said my peace here. I do look forward to watching Shogun take on the winner of the black on black crime fight (Has Dana renamed that yet? Rampage vs. Evans just sounds boring)... And I also am looking forward to see who they give Machida next. The UFC LHW division is still the best IMO because of its talent at the top, depth and young guns on the move up the ladder. I'll pay for any LHW headliner that doesn't have Randy right now...

I thought 113 was great! The matchups were awesome on paper and totally lived up to the hype in my opion. Shogun did prove to me at least that he is abouve the rest in the division right now but I wouldnt drop Machida to far down the rankings.

113 cumulatively overachieved. Best aired ppv for UFC in a while.

I agree it was better than I thought it would be... Even without the "ghost illegal knee" and the sucker punch it was a very good card...

Eh, the mid level LW's and Kimbo kept it out of that league for me... Though, Kimbo being exposed even more and dropped from the UFC made me tingly all over...

I think those things made that match a little more entertaining. Defiantly left something extra to talk about for it after.
