| Subject: No Sergio Martinez rematch, Kelly Pavlik to move up to Super Middleweight Tue May 11, 2010 12:55 pm | |
| Trainer Jack Loew spoke to My Valley Sports , advising the outlet that a conference took place on Monday with former champion Kelly Pavlik and managers Cameron Dunkin and father/manager Mike Pavlik. A decision was made to pass on the rematch with WBO/WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez, who won a twelve round decision over Pavlik on April 17 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. Pavlik was weighed on Monday and came in around 180-pounds. He is able to make the weight for the Martinez rematch but Loew says the struggle would be too much for Pavlik. He weighed as much as 190-pounds in the weeks leading up to the Martinez fight. They are not sure of their next move, but it won't be a fight at middleweight. They plan to move up to at least super middleweight. http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=27684 |

I think he better avoid Bute, Ward and Green. All those guys will kill Pavlik. |

| pavik will fight well at 168 for a while.he can beat a few good ones there and there are a few that will beat him within the distance..any fight hes involved in at 168 will be enetertaining for boxing fans..i look for kelly to fight 2 more years 5 or 6 fights there.win a few lose a few then call it a day..he will not be a dominating force at 168..the division has tooo much talent. | |
