Shit... This has me a bit concerned. Machida isn't a moron and if Shogun comes in there with nothing new I think Machida figures things out fast and has a huge advantage. I really hope that Shogun has made the adjustments he needs to, as I guarantee Machida has...

I dont think its as big of an issue as most. I think U have to do what gets u there. His style I thought won him the fight last time so although I guarantee he twicked it abit I wouldnt go all out to change it either. Shogun knows what he is doing and he knows what will work this time around. The main thing I think is he needs to stay aggressive.

I think people are overreacting with this whole "Machida has studied the tape and obviously formulated a gameplan to now destroy Shogun". What the hell is he going to do? I'm sure there will be minor adjustments but his style is his style. Its the way he's fought every one of his fights. The timing of Shogun's leg kicks in that first fight was masterful. I don't think that much is going to change

He knows the timing, Shogun ain't replicating that so perfectly again, I also think ul see Machida press and engage more, I think he finishes Shogun.

Av bet?

I have a bet already but I'm pretty sure its a sig. I'd be fine with an AV bet

The pace of the fight is definitely something that he can change. I'm not sure how much benefit I think that will really give him. It will be interesting to watch

It all depends if Machida can nullify those leg kicks and kicks to the body. If he can't stop them, then we'll see a repeat of Machida looking wore down and hurt in the last couple rounds.

I agree with that, as long as he stays aggressive. But I can't help but feel that as smart as Machida is that Shogun needs to add a new wrinkle of some kind to his game to keep him off guard a bit. I don't think he can win the fight going in with a xerox of the first fight...

Machida catches three or four leg kicks for takedowns and the fight can otherwise be exactly the same and Machida wins a comfortable UD.

Wouldn't that be hilarious in a way if the Machida era was only one opponent long? Obviously Machida's debated defense against Shogun not withstanding, Rampage was the last person to defend the UFC title, while winning the Pride title when he beat Dan Henderson. The unified LHW championship has never been cleanly defended however. Shogun will lose the title to Anderson Silva if he wins, who will lose it to Jon Jones. This title is never defended again.

I think shogun will def work the kicks again. Why deviate from what has worked? But I also think that Rua is skilled to the point that if he needs to deviate he can. Im sure they have worked on various ways to attack Lyoto. And of course I don't put too much stock into the comments of a trainer prior to a match anyways.

They just said on MMA live Shogun has been dealing with a knee injury and might be under 100% coming into this fight

If it goes to decision I think the judges will give it to Shogun because Dana secretly requested it under the table so he can set up Anderson with a title shot.
