| Since some thought Avatar was good and others average, what are the 5 best movies who've seen in the past year or so? They don't even have to be new movies, like if you never saw Terminator or Bladerunner or whatever and thought they were good post em. Not saying Avatar was the best movie ever, but I thought it was good with or without the 3-D. | |

| Yeah I liked Sherlock Holmes more then most it seems. For some reason I really enjoyed it. Some people didn't care for it at all, no one I know thought it was as good as I did. | |

| I though it was good, yet I can't put my finger on what it was, it seemed to be lacking something. | |

Hot Tub Time Machine - See above. Invictus - cewl Ninja Assassin - Please Bleed. Zombieland -Hall and Oats. Inglourious Basterds - I hate Naughtsies District 9 - Based on a true story. Terminator Salvation - I want a gun. Forgot about Zombieland, I guess that makes my top 5 over the last year. Inglorious Bastards probably too. I have District 9, Ninja Assassin and Terminator Salvation burned but haven't got around to watching them yet.

| so are District 9, Ninja Assassin and Terminator Salvation worth watching? I have them all burned but haven't watched them. I wasn't sure any of them were worth watchin. D-9 looked liked it might suck. | |

| They are entertaining. Ninja assassin is just a ludicrous blood orgy. Terminator is classic action type junk in the desert. District 9 I think is the best of them. Decent story and best acting. | |

| D-9 is a great mocie, real different, I thought it was very good
NA is also good, mostly like what you'd expect, limited story good action
Terminator is ok, but give it a watch anyways, it's on HBO or Cinemax this month to if u have em.

| 1) Inglorious Basterds
the rest
The Hangover Kick-Ass District 9
See a lot of movies but kind of blanking on some shit. Avatar and Hurt Locker were both ok. I think both got hugely overrated when the Oscars rolled around. HL was better though. HTTM was alright. Daybreakers was decent too

THe only part that I had any sort of problem with was the ending..which wasnt even that bad to me either. I love creative movies...and that one was pretty creative..that was one of the main reasons I loved the first couple of Saw movies so much too.

| Wow, I watch a couple of classics a week in the wee hours, but I'll try and keep it to newer releases in the last year. Gran Torino, Four Christmases... Crap, it's really been a rough year for movies. Hurt Locker was okay... Umm, Burn After Reading and The Dark Knight? I think the last two could have been seen over a year ago, but I honestly couldn't think of any others that stood out... I guess if my tastes were every sophomoric, crude and rude or gross out movie released it would be easier since that seems to be just about half of the movies made these days... | |

| LTFG is the ultimate downer, does this board have a geezers section? Who puts Gran Torino and Four Christmases on the same level? | |

| Really, LA? Did you ask for best drama of the year? Did you ask for best comedy of the year? Were you curious of people's opinions, or just those that fit your juvenile and simple mind? If you don't want my input, then just start off the thread by saying that you want anyone but LTFG's thoughts on the topic at hand... This old geezer is thinking someone missed their hourly bong session... | |
