The world needs a Wanderlei Silva.

Watching Anderson Silva, GSP, Gilbert Melendez and Jose Aldo not finish title fights that easily could have been in the last month has made me miss the days of old more than ever.

There is a type of fighter missing in MMA at the top at this moment. Imagine the spectacular KO last Saturday if Aldo had the killer instinct of Wanderlei Silva.

If Wanderlei was placed inside GSP's body, do you think that fight would have lasted ten minutes?

Would Wanderlei have ever let Damian Maia survive past the third minute?


Where are all the Chuck Liddell's and Wanderlei Silva's?

None of these fighters will ever be loved the way the fans love Wanderlei for this reason.

Because nobody wants to take a risk. Wanderlei prolly felt the risk of losing was well worth the reward of kneeing a mans brains out the back on his head.

Aldo didn't finish out of pitty/respect. I mean, he knew Faber would be trying for home run shots, but the blood was in the water and he pulled up on opportunities where the finish was easily available.

I've seen his entire career, starting in the mid 90s with MT fights. He has always been Wanderlei. Unless you think he was mentally effected by roids since he was 16 and constantly his entire career you're just babbling.

He could have done no more and no less roids than Jeremy Horn.

Wand being a finisher and aggressive due to roids is complete bull shit.

Rampage is coming back and he usually looks to knock peoples head off. I'm sure he'll be head hunting when he fights Shad.

Thiago getting back on the horse should be good too. He loves to throw.

Anderson with the right match up will finish people.

Jon Jones, Shane Carwin, Brock Lesnar, and Junior dos Santos are all finishers.

I'm not sure there will ever be a pair as dominate as Liddell & Wand were in the mid 00s, but MMA still has its fair share of big names who knock heads.

I'll never forget watching Wanderlei's fight with Artur Mariano where the Doctors stopped the fight after Wanderlei busted his eyebrow open and continued to use headbutts until the cut was so big you could see his skull in it. Roids has nothing to do with it, Wanderlei was simply always a fighter willing to live and die by the sword so to speak.

Farmer all those guys can finish fights but no one has the kind of aggressive malice Wanderlei had. Brock is an unaesthetic ugly finisher. Give him Wanderlei's heart and he'd throw giant meteor bombs and be one of the most devastating KO artists in MMA.

Wandy was like a fucking monster! No one wanted to fight him back in the day because you knew to go head-to-head was nearly life risking. My favorite fight is still him and Chuck. Sure they were past their primes, but they both tried to brain each other. What makes me have love for Wand is every time I see him on other peoples videos, whether on the elevator, in the parking lot, chit-chatting in the lobby, he seems like the sweetest guy you ever met.
