19-year old grappling phenom JT "Spiderman" Torres from Team Lloyd Irvin submits UFC welterweight Dustin Hazelett in under a minute. Video from this past weekend.

No shame. I bet that kid would tap most of those "black belts" in MMA.

Without the gi as well assuming punches arent being thrown. No-gi is much easier IMO.

I will keep an eye out for him, he will be doing pro MMA soon enough, as long as he learns to throw and defend strikes, maybe branches out to some wrestling.

No embarrassment to Hazelett. Looks to me like he may have taken the kid lightly and anyone who has been in there know there's a big difference when going Gi and not having bombs thrown down on you while grappling. It will be interesting to see if he ever has a go with MMA.

i think Gi is easier. You have the Gi to grab and use to leverage yourself. No gi is def harder.

I agree... I definitely think no Gi would be harder. With how much they sweat I would imagine it would be pretty hard to have such a secure grip without any sliding.

So does your opponent though. It's not like your the only person who can grab the gi and make it tough for your opponent, it's goes two ways, thus making it difficult. I guess it comes to the person because i find no gi to be much easier for me....and i do both. I have not met a G with the gi who was not an even bigger G without the gi.
not hating on no gi, i do a few hours of no gi every week but gi is ideal.
