| Joe kissed his ass and praised him for becoming a legitimate mixed martial artist.
Kimbo said he is learning every day and you constantly evolve in MMA. He said he loves ATT. He said Matt is a great opponent for him at this point, and someone is going to get knocked out.
I hope he knocks meathead out cold. I like Kimbo.

| I wish Wanderlei was still at 205 right about now. A catchweight fight with Kimbo is as entertaining a fight you could watch in a sports bar with random people. | |

| I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I think Kimbo is good for the sport. If he shows signs of truly getting better and performs (doesn't have to win) then all the attention he draws is good. | |

| Ugh, this thread is full of fail. Blast away Kimbo Fangirls. You're killing the sport. Kimbo vs. Wanderlei? Kimbo good for the sport? Kimbo is a mixed martial artist? I hope Kimbo wins? All this proves is any schmo with a blatant disregard for shaving and no martial arts background can get into the biggest MMA organization in the world so long as people are willing to watch him. If THAT'S good for the sport i'd hate to see whats bad for the sport.

| lol right, i hold Mitrione in even lower regard than Kimbo. Guys like Mitrione are there for Kimbo. Which makes this Kimbo thing even more irritating. You'll see more and more scrubs brought in UFC to give this guy suitable matchups. I could give a fuck if he knocks out or even submits him. Kimbo would never hack it against a true mixed martial artist hence he does not belong in the UFC. | |

| I don't even think Kimbo wins this, but if he can go out and not embarrass himself then just think an extra 50K(?), 100K(?), whatever get exposed to some of the best martial artist in the world with Shogun, Machida, and Koscheck. | |

| Rogers was like a tire changing guy at Sams Club. At least I think that was it, no idea why that would have popped into my head if not I can't hold anything against Kimbo for not having much MMA experience. Should he be on this stage at this point in his MMA "career"? No, probably not, but everyone is inexperienced at some point. If he's doing this for a paycheck only, then shame on him, but if he's really trying to improve then I give him kudos. Fedor, Nog, and everyone else was a novice at one point too. Granted their fights weren't being shown on UFC PPV at that point in their careers either, but still Edit: Looks like I was too slow typing what Rogers did. | |

| Who knows LA but please let me know when Kimbo fights somebody on the level of Andrei Arlovski, let alone beats him...or fights Fedor Emelianenko and takes him to round 2 while doing damage.
It's not so much that he has no background but he has no background while fighting NOBODY and people give a fuck about this guy and even say he's good for the sport.
It makes me sick that every month 4-5 fighters are released from the UFC and considered cans because they lost while this circus fights guys tailor made for him and people jump up and applaud him like on the job training and tailor made fight are acceptable in a organization that puts such emphasis on having only the best survive.
I don't get LA how you defend Kimbo but bash Brett Rogers so much because Rogers is "overrated"...the fact that Kimbo is even in a big organzation be it UFC, SF, or even Japan makes him overrated, atleast Rogers goes out there and attempts to justify any talk surrounding him by fighting Fedor, AA and now Overeem while people talk about how improved Kimbo is when he takes down Houston f'n Alexander.
Rogers and Kimbo are different. Rogers has fought some of the best in the world, including the very best and came out with more respect overall than he had going in by most. Plus, he woud kill Kimbo...even EliteXC knew that. Thats why Kimbo got the guy who got knocked out in the Grim/Thompson fight..and was controlled for most of the fight by the guy until the guys cauliflower ear popped. Kimbo is a joke and will always be a joke.

| I only did that because in backround they are similar and you bashed Kimbo based on that. I don't really care for either guy, but Kimbo is more likable, very different then originally though, while Rogers is kind of delusionally arrogant. | |

| in regards to Sams club, people are always using that to clown the big fella but if you can't afford to train full time you can't afford to train full time. The story goes is after EliteXC folded he was not getting decent cash offers to fight anywhere and he pretty much decided he was going to retire and started working at Sam's club full time until Strikeforce purchased all the EliteXC contracts and kept him on board and he upset AA and now he gets paid. The guy did not learn to fight or was discovered changing tires, a man needs a job. | |

| but Kings why hate on Kimbo? It was elite prior, and now the UFC who have tried to cash in on the popularity that Kimbo created on his own.
And by no means is Kimbo the worst fighter in the UFC. He is def a guy who puts on entertaining fights. Is he one dimensional, sure but so is Maia.
Of coarse Rogers or any other top fighter would crush him, but that is besides the point.

| Shane Carwin still works at his job as an engineer full time as of before the Mir fight.
This is the HW division, there will be a guy in a major title fight who is using a sledgehammer and wearing a hard hat right now in 18 months or less.
