| After tonights dominant performance, Aldo no doubt deserves to be in the top 5. He completely outclassed Faber, basically toying with him.
The thing is you have Fedor, GSP and Anderson in the top 5 too, and hate for Anderson aside, it's tough to put him above them because the FW division just isn't as talented as the other weight classes.
Machida is in there as of now, but if he comes out and beats Shogun, a better fighter and P4P fighter than Faber, then it's a tough sell to have Aldo above him aswell.
As of now, I have Aldo at 4, if Machida comes out and beats Shogun, he'd drop to 5.
Then lastly, you have BJ rematching Frankie, who IMO is a better P4P fighter than Faber aswell in a tougher division, If BJ wins that, man you got some tough decisions to make.

| The usual suspects for me. So no interesting changes here.
Aldo beat a better fighter in his last fight so tonight does not change much for me.

| When Joe says Aldo is top 3 P4P, I wonder if he's going Anderson, GSP, Aldo? | |

I would imagine he knows Fedor is #1. I think he bumped Silva like I am thinking now.

| lol, Rogan has about 10 fighters in his top 3.
That guy is pretty liberal with his usage of pound for pound.
I usually only rank a top 5 p4p and its still, in no particular order Fedor, Lyoto, Spider, BJ, and GSP.
I don't even bother with 5-10 because i notice it's been a revolving door for quite some time.

| In my mind you still have the holy trinity of Fedor, GSP, and Anderson. Gun to my head I put GSP 1, Anderson 2, and Fedor 3, but that could change in about an hour or so.
Tied at 4th we have Machida and Aldo. The only reason I don't have Aldo higher is because the FW division isn't great. Once he fights and beats a big name LW then he moves into a tie with the top 3 guys. Machida can too if he avenges the should be loss to Shogun. 205 is so stacked and Machida has beaten some of the verrrrry best.

| I have Machida 4, but Aldo has beaten some very worthwhile opponents at 145. I don't disrespect that division at all. | |

Machida beating Shogun and BJ winning the rematch makes 4-6 tough as fuck BJ is still on the outside looking in for me. He has had too many blemishes in the past and needs really show he's better than Edgar. Its not like Serra-GSP where we can call it a lucky shot because anything can happen in MMA. It was a 5 round war with Penn not showing he's the best. He just didn't do enough in my eyes and the judges as well. But I don't want to derail this thread with more Penn-Edgar scoring talk. We've had it before and I don't think anyone is changing their minds.

| Edgar is a top P4P fighter to me to though, yes I thought BJ won, but we won't get into that
BJ has competed in multiple weight classes which plays into it
I think Edgar could drop down and give Aldo his toughest fight yet

I think Edgar could drop down and give Aldo his toughest fight yet Now that is the fight I want for Aldo. Here is how I dream it up too... 1. Manny gets the next shot i the WEC 2. BJ beats Edgar 3. The UFC absorbs the WEC 4. We set up a Edgar-Aldo fight at 155 or 145 5. Aldo vs Penn super fight!!!

| Hard to say who the best p4p fighter is. A lot of weight classes have arguments.
My p4p is going to be this -
1. Fedor - His last 4 opponents out weighed him all by 25+ pounds or more(one by like 200). The average divisional rankings of his last 3 opponents is 4.6. 2. Anderson Silva - Ya he gets weird but no body is beating him any time soon unless he lets Jake Sheilds grab ahold of him. The squashing of Forrest still resonates even post Maia. 3. GSP - He is as good as either fighter mentioned above or better on any given day. 4. Jose Aldo - His last two wins are as good as they come in MMA, but he only has those two, while the rest of the elite have established years of dominance. I wonder on his footwork in relation to the divisions flanking him though. Edgar and Cruz could dance around him all night. He would not have a significant enough speed advantage on either to negate the footwork. 5.Lyoto Machida - The stalemated first exchange with Shogun drops Machida down a few notches. 6. BJ Penn - Why didn't he take Edgar down? 7. Dominick Cruz - His style against Aldo would be very very interesting. 8. Shogun - His earlier p4p Pride days and his recent fights with Liddell and Machida prove he is a special talent in MMA. 9. Edgar - Like Cruz, I'd like to see him take on Aldo because of mobility and footwork. He could beat Jose Aldo with the right game plan. 10. Jake Shields - If he could raise his striking above a 6-7 out of 10.

| For me I still have BJ ahead. Unless BJ looks really bad in the Frankie rematch, I don't see Aldo overtaking him.
Fedor GSP Silva Machida BJ Aldo |

Also what up Bigs What up LA, how'd you like that game tonight??? I know Shields is great, however, I can't rank him in the top 10 without having faced a Fitch, a Koscheck, an Alves...SOMEONE! His win over Hendo was nice but I can't help but think that Danny boy is over the hill and possibly suffering from lingering back issues. Still a good win but not what it would've been a year or two ago. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'll withhold placing Jake in my p4p top 10 until after he faces the best the UFC has to offer in the WW division.
