The Lions live on : Travis Lutter

Travis was another one of the good fighters out of Dallas Lions Den, withthe crazy nick name "Serial Killer" and good submission base and size he was a tough out for anyone at Middleweight.

Travis debuted in MMA in 1998 with a win over James Cooper by a decision in some organization called PWR. He did not fight again until 2002.

At HookNShoot he Rear naked chooked Chris Hensen in under a minute. Then at Ring of Fury he lost by a 3rd round knockout to Jorge Rivera. Lutter went on to win at ET 1 and ET 2 submitting Mark Epstein and some other unknown fighter. Lutter's record was 4-1 when the UFC came calling.

UFC 50 : Marvin Eastman was supposed to walk all over Lutter, atleast that was the thought going in. 40 seconds into the 2nd round and it was all voer. Lutter scored the only knockout of his career in the msot important fight of his career. Eastman does not get credit IMO, he was a good tough fighter. This was a good win for Lutter. UFC 52 : Matt Lindland gets the a great choke in the 2nd round and Lutter loses some steam. Travis is know 5-2. It was a good fight.

UFC 54 : Lutter faces Trevor Prangley and goes the full 15 minutes. In a close fight, Lutter doesnt do enough and Prangley gets a unanimous decision.

Cage Rage 15 : facing Pele Lutter looks very impressive, Pele gets a big knee, Lutter takes him down, and works a sick armbar. Its over in the first round. Impressive win for Lutter.

Lutter than went to IFL and armbarred Cedric Marks in just over a minute. Lutter's record is 8-3. He is about to have the biggest fight of his career.

Ultimate Fighter 4 Finale : Lutter is facing Patrick Cote. It is the most impressive Travis Lutter has ever looked. 2 minutes into the fight he gets Patrick arm and Cote had to know it was over, Lutter slaps a sick armbar on Cote and the fight is over.

UFC 67: Travis is facing Anderson Silva, sadly it isnt meant to be. I kept thinking oh come on get that arm. Just wasn't meant to be and Silva elbowed his way to a 2nd round victory. Still Lutter got to fight the greatest fighter on the planet and he gave a good account of himself.

UFC 83 : Lutter is facing Rich Franklin in a very entertaining stand up match. Probably not the best idea to stand with Ace and eventually Lutter pays for it in the 2nd round when he is knocked out.

Lutter went 1-2 vs Cote, Anderson, and Franklin when they were all in or near their peaks. Nothing wrong with that at all.

Travis won a decision over Jason McDonald last November at MFC 22. His record stands at 10-5, holds wins over Cote, Eastman, and Pele, and loses to Franklin and Silva, perhaps the most underrated fighter from the Lions Den. Good tough guy who earned my respect and represented Dallas Lions Den well.

Lutter's one of the guys I'd like to see get another run in the UFC

it was without a doubt his most impressive win, and one of the easiest victories over Cote in the Evan Tanner era he woulda been a champ IMO

He was a crazy escape short of arm-barring Franklin too. As an Ace fan I thought Lutter had him dead to rights there.
