| as long as this holds true. - Quote :
- "We are now with Fedor in the U.S. and we hope to make a decision about his next fight within the next few days," Finkelchtein stated. "There are many business meetings and negotiations planned with all the major promotions. We will explore the possibility of Fedor fighting Barnett and will even look into whether the fight can take place as soon as August (since Barnett has not been suspended)."
Finkelchtein also believes that the cancellation of "Trilogy" could be used as an opportunity to jump start stagnant negotiations to bring Fedor to the UFC.
"This is the moment of truth that the UFC has talked about. Fedor and I are here in the States. If they want to come out and fly here, we are ready to conduct negotiations. Of course it still doesn’t imply we are ready to accept any conditions they’ll throw at us. We want to talk to the UFC about having Fedor compete against some of their fighters, but only within the framework of co-promotional efforts with M-1 Global."

| Fedor doesn't create enough money to get the UFC to co promote with M-1 | |

| Ya, I was more talking about Fedor's team easing off their dumb demands and following the UFC's money if the Strikeforce and Dream contracts don't come close. It's not out of the realm of possibility Fedor gets a contract that would net him around 3 mill a fight like the others and all the UFC has to do is slap m-1 on the cage floor. Something like that could be a possibility maybe.

| I'm kinda naive here, but does anyone see this as a possiblity for ?UFC to finally be open to cross-promotion? Don't they realize/care how much fans want this shit to go down? | |

| I could see a cross promotion done if M-1 agrees to stop promoting fights in the US and agrees to say a smaller european promotion. | |

| UFC would have more to lose then gain individually from cross-promotion, sure as fans we want to see it, but they'd be glorifying or lionizing their competition, and if other Org's Champ's beat their own, it lessens their product in a sense. Although of course I'd want to see certain non-Zuffa fighters compete against the UFC's best. | |

| Maybe the UFC could buy M-1. If M-1 had serious money they wouldn't need Affliction to put on real cards and host their own top name fighters. | |

| M-1 has never put on a major card and brings in like no money at all. It wouldn't take too many 0's to make it go away. | |

| Finkelcooch needs to chill. The UFC isn't gonna co-promote, even for Fedor. | |

| Does anyone know how many fights Randy has left on his UFC contract? If Fedor signed with Strikeforce could we see Randy go there just for that fight? | |

| That fight has lost its hype now. Randy has 2 more fights on his contract i believe. | |

I think people still want to see it, Randy would put up a better fight then almost anyone out there. He wouldn't have to worry about any size advantage with Fedor.

| This is why Fedor won't be signed, well, as long as that remains a critical point in the contract to Fedor's management. Does Fedor have no say in the matter? Does he really think a co-promotion with M-1 is reasonable? Im my opinion, with demands like that, the UFC shouldn't even bother with Fedor until he gets management that are actually looking out for his career and his interests, instead of their own failing investments. This is not standard contract negotiation and basically means that the UFC would have to financially support and pull M-1 from the grave, which to get one fighter, in my opinion, is not worth it. | |

| Randy would be smaller from the looks of things, Randy is usually between 220 and 230 and Fedor is usually over 230, and he just looks bigger side by side, also, Fedor would KO Randy in under a minute if he fought him like he should, which he probably would.
I have never thought Randy would be a real challenge for Fedor.

| Weight =/ size but their frames are so close I can't say who would really be bigger. It wouldn't be enough anyway. | |

| Fedor looked bigger to me. But he is 100 times faster and a bad matchup for a greco fighter since he is super awesome in the clinch. Randy's only chance would be to try and dirty box him and all that would happen there is his pelvis would be destroyed from a Fedor Judo supertoss.
Randy shouldn't even be allowed to fight Fedor. If Liddell and Lesnar knocked him out imagine how Fedor would do him. His hand speed is much better than theirs and he hits hard enough to do similar damage.

| All I know is according to some big time people on the UG it sounds like Fedor coming to the UFC is as close as it's ever been. It's sounding as though it's just a matter of time now. | |

I don't get on there so I don't know in regards to that, but it sure fucking feels that way right now.
