And their RB LaMichael James is suspended the first game...this year could be a bust for the Ducks when they had such high expectations. But then again..Blount was "suspended for the whole season" and got to come back...i expect the same for Masoli.

| They never said the whole season for Blunt though. Thats the difference with Masoli and him. With masoli they have already said it will be all year. | |

| Masoli was more important than Blount in my opinion. That dude was fun too watch also. I hate it when guys do stuff like this when they are in the spotlight. | |

No, Chip Kelly said Blount would no longer be playing for Oregon. And then everyone started talking about how badly that was going to hurt his draft stock. Then towards the end of the year Chip Kelly went soft and let him back onto the team when Blount's hard-headed ignorance finally subsided and he decided to make a sincere apology for what he did, realizing millions of dollars could be at stake for him.

I think he said suspended indefinitely. Cause I remember analysta talking about Oregon letting him come back when the schedule got tougher like against USC.

| Blounts suspension was indefinite. Kelly shouldn't have brought him back but did. Two running backs, two linebackers, a receiver, a kicker and a QB all either arrested, suspended or both in the last 7 months... Starting to sound more like a big time prgram every day. I remember another thread about who's favored this year and a lot of people had Oregon pretty high... Sure you all don't want to change those predictions? | |

| They have really been poo-cano'n their potentially great season away with all of their immaturity off of the field. They were going to return 18 starters to a good team. It won't be as easy to excel now at all with JM gone. | |

| They won't be a top 25 team next season. The title says it all, Oregon is done. | |

| IDK we got darrin Thomas a guy that is faster than Masoli and threw for a record 250 yards and 4 touchdowns in 2 quarters against Boise, he redshirted last year
agree our season just took a big hit and we wont be rated a top 5 team like we were going to be but we will be ok
People gotta remember Masoli was a 5TH STRING QB until injuries forced him up the depth chart

completely disagree, our 3 freshamn corners all got a years worth of experience last year, the front 7 remains pretty much the same LeMichael James is a stud and we got 3 of the top 12 running backs from the state of texas this year , including number 1 (Seastrunk)

LeMichael James is a stud and we got 3 of the top 12 running backs from the state of texas this year , including number 1 (Seastrunk) Your basing your assessments on possibilities. They have key positions taking hits and the replacements have very little real game experience. They could step up and they could completely tank. I hope for Oregon's sake that they do step up (God knows we've gone a long time without anything to "really" get excited about), but I fear that they will do the opposite and finish 3rd in the division behind SC and Cal. I think more than anything else the morale is taking a hit. Kelly better get a grip on these guys or he might be unemployed regardless of record and bowl status.

| They will be in the top 25 I think, but I don't think they will be one of the front runners for the national title like I thought would at the end of the season. | |

make his return in Knoxville against Tennessee New Mexico is still a decent team, they gave Boise State a run for their money this past year. Idk how many starters are returning to New Mexico's team though.

make his return in Knoxville against Tennessee Not just James, Bird. One game is nothing and he should still be a pre-season pick as a Heisman hopeful. And Beard, the kicker missing a game shouldn't mean much either. BUT... Masoli out for the year is a big deal. Their next option is Costa... The same Costa who hadn't gotten a snap since 2006 until his roughly 3 total minutes of mop up duty (Cal & WSU) and a start due to Masoli's injury against UCLA last year. I'm about 99% positive that Kelly doesn't go with Thomas who has ZERO snaps coming into his second season. The ONLY reason he would go that route is because he's more of a prototypical spread guy, but that didn't make him the #2 last season... In addition to those though... You have the #2 receivers on both sides (Embry and Holland) that have been dismissed from the team. Holland was actually expected to push Davis for the starting spot due to his speed and improved hands. And you have a linebacker in Alonso (Booted from the team) who was supposed to push Paysinger for the starting job and another linebacker in Kaddu who they expected a lot from this year that is about to be dismissed or face a year long suspension as well. We all can't act like these aren't significant hits, especially on offense which is the ONLY reason Oregon gets the hype it gets. The Ducks will fight through it and be a solid Pac-10 team finishing around third in the conference and end up in a decent Bowl, but no way are they going to not skip a beat and win the conference, IMO...
