I believe that there may be thermophiles and other simple types of life around the underwater volcanic vents on Saturn's moon Europa. There are ecosystems independent of the Sun around undersea vents on Earth, and no reason to believe life would not have developed in the same habitat else where. Nicely said

| I think I've done enough threads for you guys to know if both was an option I'd put it there. If you're saying you believe in God by the definition of your chosen religion, then most likely saying both is contradictory. Most religions believe in creationism bs. | |

I actually got into an argument with a couple people in my Speech class in college last semester about that. I couldnt bite my tongue on the stuff...I believe my statement up at the podium was "Scientific evidence backs up evolution...what backs up creationism? ideas and theories?" They didnt like it too well, but its the truth man. To answer the question though, If I had to pick one, I would have to go with the alien life forms. Thats kinda a hypocrite answer for me, but well...im not gonna be a "both" guy this time

The faith I speak of is a religion to one person in this world. My faith in what could be god called is unique to me and non conforming to any cultural blueprint. My belief in it alone is justification to me and also proof of its existence to me. Kind of a I think therefore I am philosophy. The though could be extended to the other option of if there is life living beyond Earth. I believe there is but I could no more prove it than I could my faith other than to myself. Another interesting take on these philosophical questions, is what can really be proven to be untrue.

And even if schools did, you know there would be those hard-headed individuals that would just ignore it anyways.

| For the sake of the argument I'm gonna go Alien life. It's more likely to become a accepted physical reality. | |

| God and evolution don't have to be mutually exclusive things unless you're a fundamentalist who takes the Old Testmanent literally | |

| How could they be related? let me guess it was God's plan?
The universe is about 14 billion years old, according to theories and I believe red-shift, where I think they can judge how old something is based on infared.
If the universe is a said age, then if God created it, what was before that and who created God?

Hey, it was a debate speech, its not my fault I picked a pretty serious/good topic that I had facts to back up wheras they had no way of beating me in it. Felt pretty good about it after I won haha, almost like I got a checkmate in chess or something

hahaha it was definately a good debate, and I liked how the teacher set it up like an actual debate match thing where we had to go up individually, present our statement and back it up against the class.

| It kind of swings back to an unjustifiable conclusion where true or false bear no relevance to belief. | |

| God works in mysterious ways equals religious nutcases saying the people in Haiti deserved to die because it's what god wanted. People blowing themselves up and killing others because its "what god wanted" too. | |

LOL thats an interresting spin that I dont think was brought up in here yet. I agree. "Well, I just robbed the liquor store and killed the clerk because it was what god wanted me to do" NOOOO you were just drunk and high and wanted more booze but had no money because you spent the only money you had on a nickelbag of crack. Lol sorry about that, I just remember reading about that happening in Akron and that was the guy's statement as to why he did it.
