I think if UFC thought merging with WEC would be such a epic game changing deal they would have done it when it was proven that the cards ratings are the shits if Urijah Faber is not fighting...which was a long time ago. It's just two extra weight classes that they would have to invest and take away time from other divisions for and make more cards for. That's why they wanted WEC...to have a promotion for the little guys almost nobody cares about outside of the hip, naturally charismatic, innovative Urijah Faber.

I think they are now going to make the move. Regardless of if SF counters their PPV or not...but it's because they don't draw and UFC does not want to have the weak sister anymore for Strikeforce to attack when they want to avoid UFC counter programming. Playing hardball like you said. That would be the biggest news out of that IMO. Other than that, i could not see the BW and FW divisions getting the same treatment as the other division that have long been established in the UFC and the other guys, like the LW in WEC won't really matter except for an exciting losing effort against Guillard or somebody.

They let the Sylvia-Mercer fight go down despite Tim's excellent record compared to Mercers 0-0.

There is no debate on if the Strikeforce card is better or not. UFC is not really going to look to match quality because that will be hard to do on such short notice with pretty much all their best guys set to fight or even in Wandy's case it's not even been two weeks since he last fought. UFC wants to get ratings in so they will look to bring in Kimbo or Toney or Both for that card...it's a no brainer. Serra-Swick or fights of that level will be fun to watch after Strikeforce is over on the DVR because they are awesome fights(don't get me wrong) but i don't think they would do any better than the UFC: Main Events special they aired in counter to Fedor-Rogers. Now you bring the circus home to Vegas, you could score 5 million dumbasses who still give a damn about that guy and probably had no plans of watching Strikeforce anyway and then you can look like you really stuck it to Strikeforce...probably more if you match him up with Lights out.

If UFC does book Kimbo...i suggest SF brings in Epic Beard Man in counter. UFC might as well save Kimbo for 113 after all because EBM is the NEW Kimbo Slice, only cooler.
