| Here is the list of men in the order that they became King of Pancrase
Pancrase hosts a 16 man tournament to determine the first King of Pancrase. In the finale it is Ken Shamrock vs Manabu Yamada, the bout ends up going 30 full minutes with Shamrock winning on points 3-0, Ken Shamrock is the first King of Pancrase it is December of 1994. March 1995 Ken Shamrock defends his King of Pancrase title vs Bas Rutten. It doesnt last very long as Ken submits Bas in just over a minute with one of the sickest submissions you will ever see.
2 Months Later Ken is defeated by Minori Suzuki via the same submission that he defeated Rutten with earlier in the year. Minori Suzuki is know King of Pancrase.Takes Suzuki just over 2 minutes.
Later in 1995 Suzuki is set to defend against Bas Rutten. In front of 15 thousand people Rutten pulls off the upset and chokes Suzuki out after 15 minutes. Bas Rutten is King of Pancrase. He is set to defend against Frank Shamrock but pulls out cause of injury.
Frank Shamrock is set to face Minori Suzuki to determine the interim King of Pancrase. Frank Shamrock uses the same submission Ken used vs Yamada to submit Suzuki after 22 minutes. Frank is the King of Pancrase for the moment.
Frank Shamrock and Bas Rutten face off in 1996 to determine the King of Pancrase. Frank and Bas are having a good fight when at the 11 minute mark the fight is stopped due to a cut on Franks left eye area. Bas Rutten is the Undisputed King of Pancrase.
Bas Rutten is set to defend against Masakatsu Funaki, in a great fight Rutten knocks Funaki out around 17 minutes into the fight. This is Ruttens last fight as King of Pancrase, he gets into a conflict with Pancrase over taking time off during his wifes pregnancy. A 4 man tournament is set up to determine the new King of Pancrase.
December 1996 Masakatsu Funaki defeats Jason Delucia to become the King of Pancrase and best fighter in the organization that he helped invent. Knockout after 5 minute mark. Funaki is King of Pancrase
4 months later Funaki is defeated by submission versus Yuki Kondo. Kondo becomes King of Pancrase. Kondo then defends his title verse Jason Delucia and wins after 27 minutes with an ankle lock.
December of 1997 Kondo and Funaki fight in a rematch. This time Funaki wins in only 2 minutes to become the first man to be a 2 time King of Pancrase (win the title after losing it). His reign will be short lived as the first one. Funaki is King of Pancrase again
In Funaki's first defense he faces Guy Mezger. The fight goes the full 30 minutes , Guy Mezger wins unanimously with a 3-0 victory over Funaki to become the King of Pancrase. Mezger defends next vs Ryushi Yanagisawa, the fight goes the full 30 minutes and Guy wins 2-0 on lost points. Next Guy faces off against Yuki Kondo. The bout goes 20 minutes and Guy wins 2-0. He is the first man to win a King of Pancrase Title fight 3 times in a row.
Guy is set to defend Semmy Schilt after facing Vitor Belfort in the UFC, But Pancrase gets nervous and fears Mezger will be destroyed by Belfort they ask him to vacate their title so Pancrase's champion doesnt get smashed in UFC. Guy does, Belfort drops out, Ortiz vs Mezger 2 happens and the rest is history.
Yuki Kondo vs Semmy Schilt is set up to determine new King of Pancrase with Yuki Kondo winning the fight on a lost point to Schilt. 1-0 after 20 minutes. Kondo is the King of Pancrase. Kondo then defends in a 30 second fight vs Kiuma Kionuke.
It is 1999 and Yuki Kondo and Semmy Schilt have another fight, this time Schilt gets an early submission on Kondo to win and become the King of Pancrase. In 2000 Schilt defends against Takahashi via stoppage and Osami Shibuya via stoppage. He joins Guy Mezger as the only other man in Pancrase history to win 3 King of Pancrase Title Fights in a row.
That is the end. Honestly you could say Tito won King of Pancrase after beating Mezger and it was passed on from him. But this is the Pancrase lineage tree hope you enjoy.

I dont want Frank to lose title by a friekin DQ though kinda weak Do MMA titles actually change hands in DQ's? I feel like a dunce for not knowing that. If they don't, then Cung Le took it from Shamrock, making Scott Smith the current champion. Heh.

| That's a good point and you're probably right, but what stops the champ from coming in to the weigh-in 1lb overweight if he's afraid/just not feelin' it/has a hangnail? | |

That's what I mean though. Both of them are "outs". Granted one is an out before the fight and one is an out during the fight and there is a difference, so farmer's probably right, but it would be interesting to find out for sure.
