Fights That Shouldnt Have Happened

Think about it there are several fights that just shouldnt happen. Reguardless how strong public interest wants it. When a fighter is done we should respect it and leave them alone, not give them a payday for a beating.

Here are some fights that were all in common in 1 or 2 ways. They were all extremely 1 sided, if anything tarnished their reptations when they didnt have to and sometimes werent even being demanded. Some where though.

Jack Johnson vs Jim Jeffries - How much did White America want this one to happen. Jack London one of the msot famous american novelist of the time was so pissed he literally wrote newspaper columns pleading Jim Jeffries to leave his alfalfa farm and save the white race (I put that alot better than London did). Jeffries was retired for over 5 years and over 300 pounds. He was persuaded to come out of retirement for record pay and managed to get into fighting shape. Yet his own brother was crying before the fight, true story, the thought of a black man beating his brother was to much. Johnson destroyed the far past his prime shot Jeffries, yet this is the fight Jeffries gets remembered for. Fight really more or less how far we have come as a society in 100 years exactly.

Muhammad Ali vs Larry Holmes - Ya I know Muhammad got 8 million. But he was already taking Parkinsons disease medicine and alot of other stuff his doctor was giving him. Never should of happened, and if youve ever seen it you know how sad it was. Ali is a punching bag, its horrific. The damn ref was to scared to stop the fight, Larry is constantly loking at him. This one wasn;t worth it.

Muhammad Ali vs Trevor Berbick - Seriously. They didnt learn from Holmes. I really dont know why the fuck this fight took place. I have no explenation, it was just sad, plane sad. The end of a legend that should have remained ended after Spinks.

Felix Trinidad vs Winky Wright - Find me 1 person that before this fight was made was saying, "Oh man I gotta see Felix Trinidad vs Winky Wright or else....." if someone says they said that, congrats you found a liar feel free to kick them in the nuts! People wanted Trinidad Hopkins 2, not this. What we got was Trinidad getting destroyed via Winky boxing lesson.

Oscar De La Hoya vs Manny Pacquiao - People werent knocking down their doors for this fight, in fact HBO was preying it would do good after the Steve Forbes numbers. Larry Merchants idea ended up being a nightmare for the shot and drained De La Hoya, who we found out just wasnt the same anymore. It was over, should have fought Mayweather rematch but Floyd for some reason retired.

Joe Frazier vs Jumbo Cummings - Why oh why did Joe come out of a 5 year retirement in 1981 and fight Jumbo Cummings do a draw? Its just hard for fighters to let it go. Thank God Joe retired for good after this.

Tito vs Winky should have happened ! people just can't accept the clinic Winky put on.

hahah see I just disagree, there was no reason for Trinidad to come out of retirement and fight someone that non boxing fans couldnt have cared less about

IDK was just a stupid fight to take as far as risk vs reward was concerned and it really meant nothing to Trinidads legacy

Jones Jr vs Green

I sadly watched Tyson McBride unfold live, I new Mike was shot before the fight, I didnt realize he was still capable of getting beaten by a white guy.

Wolf and LA!! Those guys should just get along LOL. Seriously though I think Roy Jones vs John Ruiz. It proved nothing and it made me hate Roy even more for walking around saying he won the HW Championship.

Riddick Bowe vs Jesse Ferguson & Michael Dokes.

While Bowe should have been making big fights at this point, he was wasting his time fattening up and taking on washed-up turds like these guys.

I do understand that Ferguson had beaten Mercer at the point, but the point still stands. That guy had no business in a heavyweight title fight.

Bernard Hopkins vs Roy Jones Jr 2010 rematch.

Evander Holyfiled vs anyone after 2001.

Erik Morales vs Manny Pacquiao third match 2006.

Amir Khan vs Marco Antonio Barrera 2009.

Roy Jones Jr vs Tito Trinidad 2008.

Roy Jones Jr vs Antonio Tarver third match 2005.

bird good topic.there of course are litterly hundreds and hundreds of fights that should of been never made..many of course dealing with combacks like jim jefferies or benny leonard..having a big name is one reason fights that occured that should not have..today if someone said winky wright vs clottey lol id have to ask why..you can add bo-hop and jones jr to that list..

I would argue the majority of fights Castillo has had above Lightweight shouldn't have been made.
