| If he is granted a title bid against either Machida or Shogun? Would that potential fight be a freakshow? | |

| None whatsoever. Maybe not a freakshow, but he would get dominated by either guy. | |

| No freakshow at all. It's Randy Couture. He can compete though he would fall way short. | |

| No on the freakshow bit. What intrigues me, is what if Randy wins? I don't see it happening, but nothing is impossible nor should Randy be underestimated. I will stick to my old adage of, I just want to see good fights. | |

| LA you think this would be a freakshow? I think it would come close to one.
He has no chance against any Machida who has ever fought in the UFC, but if the Shogun that showed up against Forrest or Coleman takes a waltz into the Octagon, Randy would do the unspeakable.

| An all-time great coming off two wins vs. a UFC LHW Champ is a freakshow? | |

| Randy has a chance against any1 but he would be a big underdog to both at this stage. He has been a big underdog before and 1 but against Machida or shogun he would be a huge 1. Although with his style he may be able to get hold of 1 of them and frastrate the hell out of them the way he fights. Every who has fought Machida since he has been in the UFC have mostly stood and traded back and fourth but Randy is too smart to do that and if he could get machida up against the cage he could use his dirty boxing and maybe keep the fight close. | |

| Perspective in life is everything -
An over simplification ; An all-time great coming off two wins vs. a UFC LHW Champ is a freakshow?
A proper treatment of this situation ; A 47 year old former champion coming off a win against a washed up 45 year old who hasn't really won anything since 2000 and an unimpressive and controversial decision against a non-top ten underachieving fighter he probably should have lost in a lot of people's eyes springboarding him past young deserving fighters into a title bid he has almost zero chance of winning? That's not a freakshow?

| Randy would get his ass beat by Machida or Shogun...or Page...or Rashad...
Maybe he could hang against Forrest but he might even lose that one. I don't see Randy being a real factor at any weight anymore.

| If Randy is granted wins like at the Vera fight, then yes I could see him getting UDs over anyone in the division.
I good scenario would be to let Randy fight the winner of Forrest/Nogueira. He probably wouldn't fight Forrest, but Nog should take that win anyway.
This would be my dream for the LHW title:
Machida/Shogun
Winner of Machida/Shogun vs. winner of Evans/Jackson
Winner of above vs. winner of Randy vs. Nogueira/Forrest
By then Jon Jones has two or three nice wins and fights for the title. Or maybe Gegard is in the UFC by then.

| Jon Jones is getting pretty close to a title bid if you ask me. Certainly closer than Couture rightfully should be. | |

| He may be a bit more deserving, but deserve has little to do with it. Randy is a household name and sells fights, therefore that gives him an edge when it comes to where he fights. Granted one day, Randy is going to get KTFO and when that day comes, DW will be discussing his retirement with him. As it stands now? I see Randy counting about 2.5 to 3 million dollars he just earned. | |

There certainly fighters more deserving than Randy but I don't think Bones hasn't done anything more than Randy has done at 205. Now if Bones TKOs Vera in the 1st round then he moves up but not right this second. Hasn't done enough

Couture is old, slow and can't take punches anymore. Coleman appeared to have hurt him twice. Young prospects who are up and coming > old has beens with nothing left. This is why Dan Hardy, Paulo Thiago and Paul Daley should all be in front of Hughes in the title picture.
