TV Viewing from this past weekend

This is good news! If those are the numbers, even SF is beating MLB and the NBA based on the average number of viewers:

MLB has hundreds of games on in span of 9 months. Of course every game isn't going to have high ratings.

That and (maybe this is just my opinion) MLB seems to be losing popularity more and more on a yearly basis.

I went to a Braves game a couple years ago with my sister, with tickets, metro ride, drinks, food and souvenir, it came out to nearly $175.00 I mean it was crazy money for a game that ended 1-0. That is like three UFC PPVs with chips, dips, and drinks. Plus the stadium was only half full and bored, were is the excitement for that kind of expenditure?

Yeah, but even some of the teams that do well cant fill up stadiums.

Yankees baseball is top dog in ny and always pulls huge ratings and sells out almost every game so yea.

Well not every team has the luxury of spending $300 mill per year to put together a baseball team lol

The Rangers have never been good besides 3 seasons where they were bounced out in the first round by the Yankees all three times ..... and the Rangers sell well every year

Go to a Texas Rangers game... way better chance for it to be 11-10 than 1-0

i liked the Vasquez Signing, not a fan of the Granderson trade at all.

Baseball is as popular now as it's been in years. Try getting Cubs tickets mid season, just try. You can't compare one-off events held by promotions every six or eight weeks with a gajillion dollar industry like baseball.

I dunno Wolf, cuz the Indians have (or had, not sure) the record for the most consecutive sellouts at 455, I think it was back in the 90's up til the early 2000's too. And now they barely ever sell any tickets even when they have good teams...which they have every other year it seems.

That is regionally, there are other teams that do well win or lose and are doing a lot better.

Between 2004-2009 these teams broke their single season attendance records - Redsox, Cubs, Whitesox, Tigers, Yankees, Cardinals, Astros, Angels, Dodgers, Brewers, Mets, Phillies, Padres, Nationals. Many other teams did it earlier in the decade.

All of the teams that got new stadiums broke them in old ones, apart from the Cards I believe. Yanks, Cubs, BoSox, Brewers, Tigers and Mets all did this in 2008-9, and the NY teams in their old stadiums.

Baseball is as popular as ever. No longer is it "America's sport" but do not mistake America now prefering football to America not liking baseball.
