Walker made $600, got to be a typo
Nick Diaz was the big winner at Saturday’s Strikeforce “Miami” in more ways than one. The one-man demolition crew took out Dream champion Marius Zaromskis in the first round to secure the promotion’s 170-pound title to the tune of an event-high $100,000, according to figures released Wednesday by the Florida Department of Business and Regulation.
Diaz also spurred on talk of top-10 status with his dismantling of Lithuanian striker Zaromskis, who took home $30,000 in his first defeat in six fights.
Former NFL football star Herschel Walker earned a disclosed $600 for his third-round victory against Greg Nagy, though reports have put Walker’s undisclosed pay at six figures. The 47-year-old Heisman Trophy winner said he’d donate his take to Project Turnaround, a Dallas-based charity that aims to “rebuild communities from the inside out with a comprehensive, faith-based program designed to improve and enrich the lives of urban youth and families.” Nagy took home $5,000 in defeat.
Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos continued her terrorization of the women’s 145-pound ranks with another sound victory against Dutch ace Marloes Coenen. Cyborg, who made $55,000, pummeled and out-muscled Coenen for a third-round stoppage. Coenen, a 10-year veteran of the women’s circuit, made $2,000.

Wes is a name, a veteran, and has shown he can be a mid level fighter. Not to mention he took the fight on a weeks notice against Bobby Lashley. $25,000 sounds about right.

They must pay them under the table with "locker room bonuses" and through K1 and whatever.

Guys, calm down over the payout. The fighters don't have to rent the arena, pay the insurance, pay for transportation, ring girls, stagehands, food, hotel rooms, business fees, government taxes, referees, the main staff and their cost or any of that stuff. They just have to train, fight, work, and raise a family (optional). If they don't like what they are getting paid from SF or the UFC with sponsorships? They can always be a Middleweight contender for KOTC or Palace or whomever.

Thanks to the Florida athletic commission it was either pay Sims a lot or cancel the whole fight. I'm pretty sure the original guy they said wasn't qualified couldn't have done any worse than Sims did.

Wow, yeah that was total domination as I predicted.
Sims looked WAY out of shape for that fight too.
Like...not even out of shape for an MMA fighter, like out of shap period. He was FAT! lol

Short notice and the fact he hasn't looked physically good in a long time.

NoRegret kudos on predicting Sims would be dominated. Real gutsy call there.
Sims looks similar to how he always looks.

Oh lord here comes all the smartass remarks after anything I post just so he can get a reply outta me.
Good lookin out on that pic though Golbez. Proves that Wes is outta shape compared to how he used to be.
Farmer- You cant use that excuse man, MMA fighters' full time job is training, you're telling me he wasnt training until the two weeks leading up to the fight?
I dont buy that, he was training, just not for a specific fight.

it's Wes Sims though. Im pretty sure he was just laying on his couch watching Tuf Reruns and laughing out loud at his own jokes and his pathetic performance on the show while stuffing his face with cheetos.

Did he really look that much better on TUF?
Back in his old days he was training with Hammerhouse, and was probably full of juice that he can't take now.
He wasn't in bad shape for a week out. That kind of shows ignorance to what a modern training camp really involves these days, and what fight shape means.
Peyton Manning is always in shape, but in March would he be in football shape after a week?

They were mostly lineman...so what can you expect?
I miss football though, some fun times for sure.
